I've heard it brought up several times. I really doubt it's fake. Frank hated him. He called him a pussy his FR year for not shooting the 3 vs Wisconsin.

I don't think this was unique to Pussy Spradling tho, Frank yelled at everyone. I remember him calling guys stupid MF'ers on national tv. Didn't Pussy start 4 years? If Frank really hated him I doubt he'd have played so much.

I think it was a motivation tool. Some players react and perform better to verbal "abuse". Will was definitely not that type of player, however. I do believe Frank was trying to push him to be better. The burning their house thing I've never heard, but if he did say it, that's pretty mumped up.

Frank and Sprads was a confusing time. on the one hand, Sprads was so terrible that you can understand Frank's uncontrollable anger. But on the other hand, if Frank's recruiting hadn't been such total hot dog crap towards the end, Sprads would have been sitting on the bench where he belonged - or off the team altogether.

I feel much the same way about Bazooka Joe. While he clearly blows, I blame Bill much more than bazooka. But for the crap recruiting, Bazooka wouldn't even be on this roster. it's not his fault he's our best QB.

Huebner is no different than most of the 3rd string QBs for Snyder's entire career. He's just Schwinn or Helm playing an entire season.

Spradling was a frustrating player that I'll never think of fondly. Shannon appears to be a shithead. All that being said IF Frank did what some people say he did, and I have serious doubts about this being true it isn't like Shannon and his hitmen didn't lie about other crap, Frank should have been fired for that.

Frank's recruiting was fine until the end. His last class had Angel, Gip, and a top 150 player in Diaz. Gip + Angel alone makes it a really fine class.
