Do wind turbines kill non-real birds?
And are bird strikes intentional?
Why does my cat leave a non-real bird at my door step constantly?
Is my cat real?

I think the answer is that a lot of birds are real, but most are government spy robots. It's been a long time since I visited the Birds Aren't Real website, though, so maybe I'm wrong or maybe their explanations have changed.

Right. This is because, empirically, I can see when I shoot a bird that it is, in fact, a real bird. However, that's only because the gov't birds are smart enough to avoid my hunting grounds and are likely impervious to my shells, anyway. That's how I make sense of it, at least.

I'm very interested to hear more about mocat's theory, though. Color me skeptical.

Plus, if you really think about it, robot birds don't need to drink water and most of the birds you shoot are going to be near some water or hiding out in a bush. What's a robot bird going to photograph when it's sitting around in a bush, anyway? It all makes so much sense.

they could really get a lot more support if they changed the name to "several birds aren't real" or "quite a bit more birds aren't real than you might think" still workshopping those but you get the idea

Robot birds sit in the tree outside your office.  Also, the government isn't the only one who has ROBOT BIRDS.  Stuff that in your pipe and smoke it.

Robot birds are frequently perched on power lines, so they can obviously recharge their battery pack and to get a better vantage point for spying on people.

Today I am going to murder a half dozen or so pigeons that are making nests under my solar panels up on my roof. I'll conduct a thourough autopsy after the murders and let you all know what I find.

Wait... so all the birds I've ever shot at that didn't die (this is a very small number as I am an excellent shot) were actually bullet proof robots that I actually DID hit but their government made feathers allowed them to absorb the shot with no effect?  This makes total sense.  Spracs you are a genius and thank you for providing me with a rationale that I may use in the future on the rate occasion that a bird gets away.
