Crazy that the 1st place team in the big XII places 5 on the offensive Big 12 list, and the 8th place team places 4 on the list.

I imagine on film he looks good because he absolutely is a good cover corner, very few can just run by him and get open. The issue we all have with him is that he displays no ball skills at all. I learned listening to the post game show on Saturday that our secondary is instructed NOT to look back at the ball.

They were good all year. This may be a product of one being good and another being good the next but not one of them was particularly consistent throughout the season.

Yeah, between Geary, Bryant and Willis it did seem like one or the other was making a play.

i have been complaining all season about us never looking back at the ball. In fact that comment by me Saturday was met by a not pleasant exchange with someone near me. I won't be discussing football strategy much in section 23 anymore. We allow receivers to catch the ball without any attempt to disrupt the play. After the catch we try to tackle. Unfortunately by that time they have gained 30+ yards.
Thx for posting this. I got to vent. Of course the coaches know a whole lot more about it than I. And the gentleman in my section does too, apparently.

Most DBs are not instructed to look back for the ball unless they are in great position on their man.  If they are beat by a step or two, they should try to get back to the man and instead of looking for the ball, put an arm up when the receiver does to break up the pass when it the ball gets there.  A lot of guys in my section were pissed DBs weren't looking back but more often than not, they were beat pretty badly.

Shelley played phenomenally though.  He is an absolute stud and could easily develop into a top 3 pick.

Apparently our DBs are instructed to never look back and this is fairly new, within the last few years. It has also obviously led to fewer interceptions.

Too short to be a first round pick, let alone top three. The NFL is moving towards taller corners.

Well, apparently our backs weren't in good position on the receivers most of the time then. I can honestly say that was one of the most frustrating parts of the season for me.  Rant over; you won't hear me complain about it ever again.

We should look into recruiting more Duke Shelley's.  He seems to be good at playing football.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

I am not sure how Burns was HM as a DB.  There was no one (including Duke) in our back 7 that is/was good enough to be HM.

you know what makes me lol?  two things

1.  when my buddy Braydein the other day at 3rd lunch (holler at the social studies crew!!!!) was telling a story and he laughed and milk came out his nose

2.  when my other buddy Will motherfucking Geary didn't show up anywhere on this list.  because, you know, if you watched any games this year, like...ANY games, you know that KSU doberqkuats had one thing that no other team had:  the motherfucking BIGGEST GUY ON THE FIELD THAT WOULD RIP THE BALL OUT OF OPPOSING RB'S HANDS LIKE IT WAS A GODDAMN PULL TAB AND WAS IN ON EVERY GODDAMN PLAY THAT WASN'T A 90 YARD TOUCHDOWN PASS

for serious go back and watch tape and tell me there is one other BIG XII nose you'd like on your team other than the Gear Bear/Origami Rose and then I'll punch you in your cranium for being a dumb dummy that doesn't know how to break down film.

Also, show me the money/space jams/etc.

Well then perhaps a third rounder, but, even then that is highly doubtful. He may get drafted but more than likely he is a third day guy if not an udfa.
