If Venzy wants the job we should hire him. I don't care if he raped Jack.

One of the funnier things I've read on this blog. I also agree wholeheartedly.

Meacham to UNT

:horrorsurprise: :sdeek:  what the eff

why? should he get a better job?

Yeah. He was tied to power 5 jobs, its only a matter of time. UNT is at or near the bottom of the FBS. Neither here nor there as he does not appear to be their first choice

If LittreLL's name sounds familiar he was a RB on OU's 2000 BCS championship team and he was a grad assistant at KU. He's been everywhere, like a half dozen or so schools in 11 seasons.

Meacham to UNT

maybe?
http://www.frogsowar.com/2015/11/30/9819866/rumor-mill-doug-meacham-to-north-texas-sonny-cumbie-to-texas

This was great...

Of course, Charlie Strong told reporters that he hadn't even spoken to Cumbie about the gig. Regardless of the truth to this rumor, Frog fans should know that there's no way TCU lets Meacham and Cumbie get away in the same year.

I don't think TCU has much say in the matter if Meacham is offered a HC gig and Cumbie gets an offer from UT.  Cumbie isn't going to walk away from that gig, especially seeing how Lincoln Riley's stock has risen this year.

Probably true, pan. Texas can throw all kinds of money at Cumbie, and Cumbie has to be tempted to take the job because he thinks he might have a shot at the HC job if Strong has another bad season...IF Cumbie significantly improves the UT offense. That said, Cumbie may sit tight to see what his boss does considering all the head coaching jobs open right now.

Venzy is blacklisted because he left in 98, probably recruited to ou on our dime as well.

That's it

Meh, this doesn't mean anything if you'd like him to coach KSU some day. Although I don't think it's wise for a coach to take a job in a region he's never coached in and therefore likely recruited lightly.

Also, re TCU, a couple thoughts:

1) is Meachem the real mastermind, and how much credit does Cumbie get/deserve? Wondering how much UT really wants him.
2) how shitty is TCU's offense (and therefore, team) going to be without Meachem, Cumbie and, most importantly, Boykin?  That backup qb is garbage. I think I recall they got Kenny hill, who had one decent game, sucked for several games, and got benched for a true freshman at aTm.

Do you pay attention at all?

Kenny Hill Sophomore year: Completed 67% of his passes, 23 TDs to 8 Ints
Trevone Boykin Soph: 60% of passes, 7 TDs to 7 Ints

Hill took the fall for a shitty defense.  Sumlin decided to pull a oscar and self impose a rebuilding year in order to keep heat off of him.  Maybe Boykin was a late bloomer but if you associate absolutely any of his development with these OCs, Hill in their hands should scare you.

Glad to see Babers came to his senses. Hope he wins the MAC and then laughs on his way to the bank after taking a P5 job.

I like how on this board absurd ulterior motives completely absolve player performance.

Disagree about motive if you want but the stats speak for themselves.  Kenny Hill was very good

Surely Sumlin was "feeling the heat" coming off another successful season where he earned a huge six year extension. Yep, he definitely tanked the season (it didn't actually tank) 9 games in under the guise of "rebuild mode", which only goEtards noticed. Exactly like with oscar.  Players were yet again convenient scapegoats for this devious plot.

Oh you're focusing on that. I think the Hill v. Boykin comparison is the takeaway from that post.
