Sorry if that was confusing, if we hire venzy the vaniers are out. Hope that makes more sense
Oh, well that sucks too. I never heard the venzy drama, but I hope it was as bad as him banging a family member for this non-sense.

Does it matter at this point?  Do they plan to donate another $30m+?

Seriously what did Venzy do that makes him such damaged goods here? Everyone always makes it seem like some deep dark secret but nobody will come out and say what it was

Slept with a Vanier, and was a bad influence (nose candy) on said partner, who may have been married.  Least that's what I was told.  Seems like a long time to hold a grudge.  Allegedly.

Of course they could have been lying to me in which case I have no idea.

The Vanier should take responsibility for their own actions. Takes two to tango. Clearly Venzy got his crap together eventually. Thanks for the money guys but if you want to throw a temper tantrum about it we can rename it the "Impending National Title Football Complex"

is it concerning that Venzy has never been given a shot as HC?  He's been one of the hottest coordinators for close to 20 years.  whats the deal?

From what I gather (allegedly), it was papa that had a problem, but he's dead now.  Snyder buried the hatchet (allegedly).

The Vaniers will be in the minority when the time comes (allegedly).  If they're the lone holdouts while everyone else is in favor of Brent, they may be told to get on board.

Will need Blackcats to confirm.

I think the main concern was that he was considered to be living under Bob's coattails.  Like, he was great, but how much of that was him and how much of that was Bob?

Now that he's done even better at Clemson, without Stoops, he's on fire.

Should we be concerned that he is maybe too "on fire" now? Like he could probably get a shot at 98% of schools

I guess - but same could be said for every coordinator at every level of all sports.  and there are a bazillion jobs open this year, so we'll see if his name pops up anywhere.

If Venzy wants the job we should hire him. I don't care if he raped Jack.

Sounds like that married Vanier is a super bad person as well. At least Venzy wasn't married. If that's all that's holding us back from greatness, off with their heads!

I know what Bill 1.0 would do.  He'd hire Brent, handle the matter internally, and we'd drive to every JUCO between here and McAllen, TX picking up every stud we can get our hands on and getting them qualified through MCC.

This sounds like a pretty great plan to me.  I mean, why else even allow MCC to take up the space they do?

I'm confused by some of you, Richt has been less successful than LHC Bill Snyder and he's been at freaking Georgia. Why would you want someone that is worse than at least four current coaches in the conference?
I'd really love to know what coaches you put below Richt and your metric for "worse".

Seriously? Stoops, Sweaty Gary, Art, and Gundy are inarguably better. Snyder is better as well but I didn't count him because he would be replacing Snyder in this scenario. I'm not saying he's terrible or anything but it wouldn't make sense for a program like us to hire a guy who was just decent at his last job and he had every single available resource one could have. He's more likely to be worse here, not better.

I didn't get what you posted at first, I'd agree mostly, which oddly enough makes my mistake about your post valid.  I thought you meant Richt would struggle to "beat" the bottom 4 for some reason.  It's crazy how many good coaches we have in this conference. Richt could very easily be a bottom 4 coach based on resume.

IDK if telling your #1 donor to eff off, is a good recipe for success, long term.  :dunno:

How much do the vaniers love sean?   I mean, having veto over one candidate isn't the end of the world, I guess.  But is it more that that?  I certainly hope not.
