Richt says he's seriously considering staying at UGA in an undetermined job. FWIW.

I'm confused by some of you, Richt has been less successful than LHC Bill Snyder and he's been at freaking Georgia. Why would you want someone that is worse than at least four current coaches in the conference?

because Dimel or Sean would be worse than at least 9 current coaches in the conference

I think we could do better than Richt.

I kind of like Iowa State's hire, but I don't know a lot about the MAC tho.  :dunno:

Campbell is already recruiting players to Iowa State that he had committed to Toledo, because they are better than Rhoads' 2016 class.

Hope he has a shot.

Stunning news. Clay helton had the interim tag removed. Figured they were in the herman/fuente/smart market.

That sounds like an extremely weird/random request.

He's done a good job of turning their season around. Maybe Haden is tired of big name hires blowing up in his face?

USC is a top 5 job. I mean what happens when they lose by 40 saturday? Should have at least looked at some nfl guys that would love that job

Waiting until after the CCG to make the decision would've made more sense. Definitely not a big name kind of coach that usually gets a job like that, but USC needs stability right now. Kiffin and Sark were viewed as home runs and both ended poorly in less than 4 years...

Also, he's only 43. I bet he does well with recruiting.

yeah im not saying its a terrible hire or anything, it was just very quick. I mean that a pick your coach place so its pretty shocking. Haden is done if this doesnt work out

I'd really love to know what coaches you put below Richt and your metric for "worse".

If true, this sounds like the request of a guy who has very little interest in coaching at KSU. My guess is that the naming was contingent on a very large donation, in which case the university can't just remove it.

r u guys serious?  Vanier family is largest donor to KSU athletics - dumped $20mil into the Vanier facility.  naming rights were part of that.

if a coach won't come here b/c of a conflict with the Vaniers then the coach can get mumped - name isn't coming off the building.

Seriously? Stoops, Sweaty Gary, Art, and Gundy are inarguably better. Snyder is better as well but I didn't count him because he would be replacing Snyder in this scenario. I'm not saying he's terrible or anything but it wouldn't make sense for a program like us to hire a guy who was just decent at his last job and he had every single available resource one could have. He's more likely to be worse here, not better.

Richt sucks
Yep. Georgia is considered a top 10 CFB coaching job and with the level of talent he's gotten to Athens, he really hasn't done much in the last decade.

Yeah do not want mark richt, georgia isnt that far off from cali florida and texas in talent and he constantly underperformed. Hes not terrible or anything and has a great record but what would our record be in that division. Its rough ridin' awful

The Clay Helton news makes me sad only because I was hoping the USC job threw the carousel into an uncontrollable spin. Hopefully UGA does that but I'm guessing they'll wait for Chip because he's definitely getting fired after that debacle last Thursday.
