I am not going to sugar coat this as us being unlucky.  We have been very lucky in fact, its been our ineptitude to not cash in the lottery tickets we have been given.  Moral victories can exist, but the last have not been examples of them.

agreed. OU 2009 IMO was a moral victory. OSU 2011 could be looked at as a moral victory. this was throwing a win we had given to us in the trash

How in the eff have we been lucky? 3 PIs in a row not called and a phantom late hit is actually unlucky. TCU got lucky because they were physically outmatched but won because our coaches crap the bed.

i don't know about Chings, but I'm saying we should try to win:

1. We weren't going to win without controling the 2nd half clock, and the run was working. Run.
2. We weren't going to win giving the ball back to TCU tied. Go for it on 4th.

Everyone knows that except Chingon, who thinks we lost because we are only slightly better than KU.

While I am sure we are better than KU (who is likely the worst team in p5 this year) until we win a league game I think we shouldn't be counting wins that haven't happened yet.  So far we have not beat a good team this year yet. Hell we might not have beat at average team yet (maybe La Tech will be).

come on don't be a huge homer. we had at least 3 iffy PI calls go our way. We got two lucky ints.  Got away with at least one blatant hold, got away with an obvious illegal forward pass, and completely controlled the tempo of the game.  I don't know how this game could have been more in our favor to win.

Coach I don't like wins close games = lucky, used trick plays, fluke year
Coach I don't like loses close games = poor character, lack of determination, no heart, sign that program is doomed

Remeber these are same posters, who for the most part, say Les Miles is lucky and not a very good coach.

Like, EVERY person on my twitter feed, which is basically all Royals, MLB, college sports, and KSU people, were saying in unison "WHY IS K-STATE THROWING? WHY NOT GO FOR IT ON 4TH? THEY HAVE THIS GAME AND ARE GIVING IT BACK."

The second half was brutal to watch. I don't regret going, but this was awful. Remember when we used to own the third quarter?  Where did that approach go. We would make adjustments at half time and then just take over.

Did they load the box or do any clever defense crap that has like 98% probabilty of stopping the run, forcing us to throw it?
Or do our coaches hate the crap out of these kids and want them to suffer through remedial sports lessons on national tv because they can.

Yet another game where the other team desperately tried to hand us the game and we flat out refused to take it.  That is a sign of a bad team.  That's what they do.  That's what all those shitty teams winning in the 4th quarter against ranked teams, but eventually lose do.

You're wrong, bad teams get blown out in games like tonight.

Not really.  KU was a bad team last year.  Rutgers is a bad team this year.  Maryland is a bad team this year.  Every year there are those "woe is me, we just can't catch a break" teams that hover around .500 and hover around winning something meaningful.  But they can't do it.

True, we are not epically bad (ala KU), we are sort of bad (might squeak into a bowl game bad).  I just used KU et al to refute the fact that bad teams don't lose close games to good teams.
