maybe you guys hate interacting with people because you frequently hangout with high school dropouts?

Well obviously I don't just barge in, "Dlew12, nice to meet you.  So what university did you graduate from?  But it's pretty easy to tell in most situations if somebody attended college.  (E.g. They're a professional.  They talk about how they met their significant other in college. "How do we know eachother?  Oh, we were frat brothers/dormmates in school," etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.)  When people hear I'm from Kansas, a lot of time they ask if I went to KU.  It always seems pretty natural - I don't think it's pretentious at all.

I'm not sure if the police academy requires some kind of degree.  I could see how that could get touchy when Daris is meeting new coworkers.  But come on, there are social cues that could direct you about whether and where the person you're interacting with went to school.

My point is, that if I can find the opportunity to talk to someone about their school, I love to do it, and generally, they do to.  I know a lot about a lot of different universities and where they're at, so there's instantly some common ground.  Any time anyone talks to me about K-State, I go bananas, even if their only knowledge is that we have an old coach or that Aggieville is a thing.

Is there something confusing or offensive about this that I'm missing?

Good grief dlew, get over yourself and your college degrees. You could have the exact same conversation with thousands of badger fans that didn't actually go to school there.

But they went to school somewhere, right? If they didn't, it's just not the same as talking to someone who did.

Do you really not understand what I'm talking about?  There aren't people that you've encountered who, after having some conversation with them for a few minutes, you could feel comfortable assuming that they attended a university?

I'm not saying I ask every person I encounter about their school,  I'm saying that if I find an opportunity to ask someone about their school, I jump at it.

relax, I'm just busting your balls out of boredom because i had a couple of traffic court no shows this afternoon.

Just curious though-What percentage of you really wants to know about their school though and what percentage is just waiting for them to ask you back so you can tell them all about what law school you went to and how you're a lawyer and everything?

I mean, the main reason I ask the question is so I can brag about law school.  Other than that, it's probably this:

i think dlew just likes showing off his school knowledge.

I take great pride in knowing 1 or 2 things about basically every P5 school.  It really is a dynamite way to find common ground with someone you don't know very well.

i dont think they are poor because generally energy drinks cost more than a cup of jo. but i do think its stupid and gross because coffee does the same thing and doesnt have gross labeling all over it.
