Snyder confirmed that Ertz would be out for a while, so it's Bazooka Joe's job until he loses it.

That sucks for the Ertz doughnout and everything, but I think we all knew he would get seriously hurt once he had to play a real D1 defense.  He doesn't have the body to last in this offense, let alone 2 plays against a scrub team

Kinda odd it's his job outright after he was listed with an "or" on the depth chart.

When snyder days you are out for awhile I translate that to = he will never play again.

He played very well aside from his fumble. Its his job to lose at this point.

He was okay, no need to lower expectations. He threw well, he didn't run for crap.

I took that when Snyder said something at the post game presser to the effect that he was "devastated" for Ertz that he was done. But agree on your point as well.

I mean, if that's what we consider "very well", it'll be a long season. He definitely was competent and a few breaks away from having a pretty good game, but he was also a few breaks away from being absolutely terrible, considering that's by far the worst team we'll play.

He did everything he was asked to do. There were at least 3 drops on perfectly thrown balls. Our drives usually ended because of penalties or drops.

He should have been 12-18 with a couple of TD's if our WR's were Big 12 level.

Joe has Big 12 velocity.  He needs to work on reading his blocks a lot better (it feels like he was better last year), and more dedicated reps with the 1's will help him with the receivers going forward.

He's enough to get us to 7 wins.  This season hinges on the defense and special teams, and whether or not we can get a run game going.  Hubener isn't really going to be the make/break.  There isn't enough separation between him and the rest of the QB's to make a compelling argument.

I know, and I agree partly. But you guys also can't apply that without acknowledging the horribly under-thrown ball to Heath that will be an int in every other game.

I'm good with Hubes and the way he threw the ball for the most part.. in all aspects of the game, I was disappointed in his play against the competition.

Hubner wont remain healthy either.  He is like 25 lbs lighter than colin was at the same height.

Bazooka Joe is the LHC Bill Snyder system quarterback. He is not special, but I don't think he needs to be.  :ksu:

The tipped pass at the goal line was disappointing for someone his height. I'm not going to knock him too hard for Heath's take-away catch. We've seen WRs breakup under thrown passes in the past (happened a lot with Waters). The only thing that made the play standout was Health taking the ball away.
I'm interested in how he responses to a week of preparation and added expectations.
