My buddy had come to Lawrence to watch the NCAA tourney with me, this was Mike and Bill's year and it was the first round against USC. We settled in at Papa Keno's to grab a slice before the game and we're sitting in the very farthest corner booth in the back of the restaurant and I see my old assistant baseball coach walk in to the joint. He didn't stop and get any pizza, he just looked around the place like he was trying to find somebody. He sees me and my buddy in the back booth and comes up to me and asks if we want to go to the NCAA tourney, this is about five hours before the game, so I ask him how much? He says free and hands me and my buddy two free tickets to see Bill Walker square off against OJ Mayo. I thanked him profusely and then hopped in my car and drove to Omaha to watch one of the more enjoyable games I've ever seen in person.
