i was really delighted that the radio kid's origin did NOTHING save him.  he's just a bizarre little kid.

and after only seeing the first two episodes, i'm really interested to see how h jon benjamin's character becomes a can of vegetables.

Yeah, it's all great. I think maybe we'll keep spoilers out of this thread for like another week since I guess not everybody binged all weekend like me and gfa and apparently wondermeal.

It's a common side effect of the ol' 1-2-3-4.

The idea of spoilers for this show is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

No way. I'd be so pissed if the internet leaked who had been shitting in random swim trunks.

It's worse than TD2. 3 epis in, I think we'll stop.

FWIW, I thought things really picked up after the first 3.

But I've seen the movie a billion times and listened to the director's commentary and even the soundtrack with extra farts, so I'm biased.

Also, this show has a real Arrested Development type of feel when you consider the rewards of new jokes you discover upon repeated viewings. However it is different from AD in that the netflix reboot makes me happy instead of sad.

7/8th through WHAS.  You'd have to be pretty humorless to not enjoy this yarn.

I had given it a once over about 2 years ago.  My knowledge was not intimate, but I didn't feel that the lacking diminished my enjoyment.   Paul Ruud's sweet 'cycle entrance in ep1 told me all I needed to know.

Once you've finished all 8 episodes, do yourself a favor and listen to some of the original music:

I had not seen the movie and absolutely loved the tv show. I ended up watching every episode this last weekend while Mrs. Yard Dog was out of town. I'll be giving the movie a shot this weekend then try to convince the lady to watch the show with me so I can see any of the callbacks I missed.

I watched the show once and then again with the wife.  Wain's work is kind of its own genre for me.  Anything remotely like it is done so much worse, it hardly counts.

It's very very good most of the time but even within Wain's catalog, WH is so good that it is leagues above the other stuff iyam. Although Wanderlust was serviceable and The Ten was very good in its own right.

See I thought Wanderlust was really really bad.  I liked Role Models much more.

But this Wet Hot series might be my favorite thing he's ever done (Stella included).  There are a million dynamite lines.

I've had "champagne eyes" stuck in my head all night.

I thought a lot of Wanderlust sucked but Paul Rudd's dirty talking made me LOL IRL really hard
