I helped my father-in-law butcher 35 chickens a few months ago. He kept thanking me for helping. I laughingly said it might be a useful skill to have if the zombie apocalypse happened (I had never butchered chickens before). His buddy looks at me and says "well
we're all preppers." I look at my father-in-law and and he sheepishly smiles. Me "oohh that's cool." and continue ripping chicken guts out.
Awkward I thought he was just trying to eat healthy by raising his own chickens.
He now has 3 meat goats in his backyard.
