My favorite kind of SHTFites  are those thinking they're going to take on the military.

My most LOL worthy part of the "Patriots" novels is the fact that UN troops from Europe come and occupy the US.

This is the first one, there are like 4 others.

Basic premise is "DOLLAR COLLAPSES BECAUSE OF OBAMA, CITIES FALL TO LOOTING, LETS HANG OUT AT OUR RANCH IN THE ROCKIES LIVE THE GOOD LIFE BECAUSE WE PREPPED AND WE BELIEVE IN GOD BUT O crap THE UN INVADED TO COLLECT ON THE DEBTS WE OWE THEM. BETTER START SHOOTING SOME BELGIUMS/GERMANS/DUTCH/FRENCHMEN"

I love them.

The scene: QWs parents melted down a bunch of pennies to fashion into a club. Some poor unprepared dork comes by trying to get in on their bounty and is promptly bludgeoned into a pulp. Later crime scene techs are processing the gruesome scene, when one tech says "who do you think delivered the death blow?"

Right? We actually go through a lot of stuff (such as ammo, food and even medical supplies) so it makes sense to have a lot of stuff

Bring it

How would you procure half of the world's gold to back our money supply? How would you divvy up the gold into small enough units to fit the money supply? Where will all the gold come from when economic policy dictates an increase in the money supply? How would you promote growth in an economy where the money supply is very difficult to increase? How would you hedge against deflationary crises?

Everyone needs a hobby guys.

Yeah. If I had an extra couple hundred thousand dollars I wasn't planning on ever using, I'd totally doomsday prep. I'd get some Mad Max-inspired outfits, a few dunebuggies with guns mounted to them, a big fort, bomb bunkers, and the whole nine yards. It would be a lot of fun.

Also, buy a bunch of land in an area that is one step away from being a desert that would have basically zero irrigation water when obama was finally elected to his 3rd term.

Western KS won't be out of water that fast, but if the S really Hs the F then it just might be out of power, so same difference.

Preper test alert:

The Matfield Green service area on the Turnpike was out of gas last night!  So, I went over to Cassoday to fill up and after zooming past the service area again I laughed at all the suckers still waiting by the pumps for a tanker truck that was supposed to show up at 9.  But that's how Doomsday starts.....you try to fill your car up, there's no gas, and while you're waiting for a mythical tanker truck to show up a wave of zombies overruns the place.  Admittedly I wasn't #PREPED very well for this scenario and neither was anyone else.

And western Kansas is a hell-of-a long ways away (depending on where you draw the line)
