Big 12 teams as GoT Houses
« on: May 30, 2015, 07:33:59 AM »
Hey buds.  This is me trying to make a march between the big 12 football sports teams with popular television show and book game of throne houses.  I have not read the books and I may lose energy as I go.

K-State- Tully
"Family, Duty, Honor"
The Riverlands

Texas- Lannister
"Hear me roar"
"A Lannister always pays his debts."
Casterly  Rock

Baylor- The Faith Militant

Iowa State- Stark
"Winter is Coming"
Winterfell

Oklahoma-Martell
"unbowed, unbent, unbroken"
Dorne

Texas Tech- Dothraki

Oklahoma St- Barratheon?

TCU-  Tyrell
"growing strong"
Highgarden

Oklahoma State- Qarth
Full of warlocks and empty Vaults

KU- Greyjoy
"We do not sow"
iron islands

Bonus
Colorado- Arryn
Aggies- Bolton
Missouri- The Nightswatch
Nebraska- Targaryen

Do the Brotherhood without Banners
When one person, for whatever reason, has a chance to lead an exceptional life, he has no right to keep it to himself.

If Oberon Prince hadn't been axed, KSU would have been House Martell.

More like if Westeros had issued a Martell rule after he died.

I mean of course I thought of that one first but I was thinking of BWB as more renegade-y and non-flag-wavey and notre dame seems very flag-wavey. I mean I'm no Kat Kid  but that's my take.

Tech is better suited as the Unsullied.  UT The Iron Bank and OU as Lannister. IMO.

Oklahoma as the lannisters is perfect. Always afraid of losing their elite status, willing to do whatever it takes, and Switzer can play Tyrion Lannister, I mean you guys

baylor is house bolton. they've covered up a murder of one of their that everyone knows about, but doesn't talk about, and they'll pull the rug out from underneath you the exact moment you reach the brink of success.

Baylor is definitely most likely to carve a religious symbol in their forehead.

House Targaryean represents a former house that knew how to harness dragons (the option) but which everyone think have died out.  Almost completely extinct, banished to a strange land, they are hanging on to a glimmer of hope that one day they may again learn to ride the dragons and rule the 7 kingdoms.  This is Nebraska and maybe also Penn State.

baylor is stannis/melisandre and all the red priests.
"a garden city man wondered in april if the theologians had not made a mistake in locating the garden of eden in asia rather than in the arkansas river valley."

Yeah, i really like Texas as the iron bank though. Just kind of sitting on their money. Oklahoma is elite but way more chip-shouldery, like the lannisters
