speaking of frozen pizza, has anyone in the history of frozen pizza actually preheated the oven as directed in the cooking instructions?  i did and didn't notice any difference.

I always preheat the oven when making frozen pizza. Is that a waste of time?

not a waste of time at all. as a matter of fact, i would recommend keeping your oven on at all times.  no "preheat" will ever be needed.

i like to close my hvac vents in my kitchen and use the oven as a space heater. i crank it up to 500 and adjust the door opening as needed for a thermostat.

that's a good way to do it.  i basically do the same thing and also use my heater/oven as a clothes dryer b/c it works faster than regular dryer.  it's also good to keep all 4/5 of your gas burners on at all times for an extra heat boost on cold days.

i had not thought about using my oven as a clothes dryer. that is a good idea. now that you have me thinking, have you ever tried your dishwasher as a dual-purpose clothes washer?

I think I did put my workout gloves in the dishwasher once.

dishwashers make a great substitute for a shower.  get into the fetal position on the lower rack and slide yourself in.  only problem is that you need to wear swim goggles but ya i shower in my dishwasher a few times a week just to break up the monotony of using the regular shower.  best part is that the dry cycle dries you up and you don't have to waste a bath towel.

i'm not talking about sending your ball cap through the rinse cycle with no detergent.

I always laugh at my friends who actually buy irons and ironing boards.  Guess what?  You have already have everything you need in your kitchen -- get a skillet and a spatula and go nuts.  feel free to pour some water on to truly eradicate those wrinkles.

the best way to make sure you sear the chicken breast is to plop the breast into the room temperature olive oil and then turn the burner on

Same idea.  Point is you only need the one or the other.

Turning the oven on to 400 and setting the timer to 23 minutes as you put a Red Baron Classic Pizza into my parents' oven ensures a perfectly crisp crust with golden brown cheese.

Lost in this thread is that Mrs. Gooch has workout gloves lmfao

They are pink, but that is only because the only small women's gloves I could find at the time were pink.

Why is it so funny for me to have workout gloves?

I don't want calluses on my hands. Actually I already have calluses on my hands because I really only wear the gloves once in a while when I remember them.

i use a pumice stone on my calluses. lifting gloves are stupid, smell real bad after a few uses, and make it harder to actually grip whatever equipment you're using.
