tomatoes taste bad, this includes "YOU'VE NEVER HAD ONE OF MY FRESH FROM THE GARDEN TOMATOES"

plus they have a gross consistency

i have an admittedly weird relationship w/ tomatoes...i like salsa, ketchup, and pizza sauce but think whole tomatoes or big chunks of tomatoes are weird/gross.
so sue me.

a plum tomato right of the vine is pretty amaze. but in general I do not like raw tomatoes much.

true story- i get my BLT's without the L and the T and add mayo. and you know what? it's a hell of a thing thinking that you're going to find something wrong with my choice of food.

oh man, avocado is such an amazing food. the only downside is it gets brown almost immediately after cutting one open and the ready to eat shelf life once ripe is about 45 minutes. mrs. dave loves avocado almost more than anything in the world BUT she has this weird stomach thing that if she eats avocado or bananas (also likes these) she gets super indigestion and is miserable for like 5 hours. she'll always be like "I'll just have a small amount" and then is "OMG why did I have any!? never let me have ANY!". any MDs on here know of what causes this? any medicines to cure it?

Tomatoes and avocados! Both are pretty fantastic.

A tomato/avocado salad (heck, throw in some onions too!) tossed with some balsamic/olive oil and feta/parmesan/mozzarella is really, really good.

you know what doesnt sound good in that? pickles. therefore onions>avocados>tomatoes>pickles

I like tomato based sauces and things cooked with tomatoes in them, but like others I do not really like raw tomatoes. If they are in a sandwich I will eat them. If they are in a salad I will eat a few bites, but usually there are a bunch of tomatoes left in the salad bowl.

Also, I do not like tomato juice which is unfortunate because I would like to like Bloody Marys.

tomatoes are probably the greatest fruit ever invented. even the people that think they don't like them would find it difficult to imagine wtf they'd eat if tomatoes weren't used in cooking.

I like all the sauces (including salsa). I even like diced tomatoes. But i do not like sliced tomatoes for sandwiches and stuff.
