When you come back from rehab, can you just tell ppl you'll be a light drinker now? Like, are you frowned upon if you're seen out having a cold one after all of this? I'm a rookie to this tuff. TIA.

I'm gonna co-opt the sandwich kick story as the explanation for my broken toe.  A badass would do that.

I think part of being a brave and transparent admitted alcoholic is not drinking anymore.  I could be wrong on this, though, if it was determined that your alchoholism was the fault of someone else or if the sandwich really didn't hit the police officer.

Also, there are probably a few instances where it's still ok to get drunk every once in a while as long as you can make up for it with religious tweets on Twitter.

I painted houses for a guy when I was in HS.  He would meet customers at like 8am with a Big Gulp full of beer.  When called out on it, he would say, "Yeah its beer, but you can't get drunk off beer".  So, obvsly, you can.

A big gulp full of beer sounds fantastic when it comes to painting houses. Pro move.

He was the boss for a reason.   He also provided a big water cooler.   Sure water was in it,  but he also floated as much of a twelve pack inside that he could, to keep the beer cold.

Dudes who can drink all day every day are pretty damn cool imo. I mean, I wouldn't/couldn't do it and function at any respectable level. The guys that can do it are really something to behold. Usually full of great stories and fun to be around as well.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I certainly wouldn't want some professional going through the DT's while on a ladder leaning against my house.

I think finding a "higher power". So you don't necessarily have to write bible verses and crap. I'll have to re-read Infinite Jest to refresh my memory.

Going the religion route, at least in this instance, was a no-brainer.

Does D's gold chain already have a cross pendant, or is that something we could pool some money together to buy for him?

It's part of recognizing something bigger than you if I remember right. Giving you something (other than other AAers) to lean on for strength.

SexAA has got to be the biggest joke out of them all. Those sex rehab places have got to be laughing all the way to the bank, while they're screwing their coworkers behind close doors.

One of my favorite things about my grandpa is how any conversation involving painters turns to the fact that they are all drunks. "Paintin' drives ya to drinkin'" or something like that.
