that's one of the things I don't like about religions for the most part (there are probably some non major ones out there that don't do this so I don't want to say all of them). they try to convince everyone that they are a piece of crap and they have to work hard not to be one. that's garbage. maybe it's a good rehab technique to tell the rehab'ees that they are pieces of crap that don't deserve to be liked by whatever god(s) they are preaching so they work harder to not do drugs or whatever. I don't know.

No part of any program I'm aware of tried to convincr addicts that they are pieces of crap.

I'm making some assumptions about your religion here but the absolute base of your creed is your God saying you deserve to burn in eternal hellfire for inifnity years because you are a piece of crap and only because his son bailed your ass out of trouble can you get out of that.

I go to westside here in KC. It's pretty popular. They pretty much say: "It's alright you embezzled money from your company, just keep trying to do better and he'll forgive you."

The thing I hate about religions is that people just rub it in your face about how they're so much better of a person for it and look at me, look at me. you are a dumbass though, so it's entirely possible they think they are better than you simply because they are completely unrelated to religion.  it's a very low bar that doesn't require an assist from jesus to overcome for most (probably all) people.  pastries for thought.
