i'm reading Dune.i am not a reader. it's been years since i read a book for "fun." i'm about 100 pages in and loving it. taking it slow.
in the end, EMAW will always win.
Dune doesn't give you much of a choice but to take it slow

Been on a Stephen King tear lately. The Shining, 11/22/63 and now halfway through Pet Semetary. I'm not sure when my dad tendencies to read historical and/or more high brow crap kicks in, but it certainly hasn't yet.

mrs mocat: what's happened so far in the book?mocat:
a tale of two cities is probably my favorite book ever. couldn't get through it in high school but went back in my 20's and it blew my mind.
Tale of Two Cities is my all time favorite. Wanted to name my first child Sydney for a long time until Mrs. Dlew demanded a say.

It makes no difference what men think of war. War endures. May as well ask men what they think of stone. War was always here. Before man was, war waited for him. The ultimate trade awaiting its ultimate practitioner. That is the way it was, and will be. That way, and not some other way.

A tale of 2 cities is a great story, helps to know the context of the Revolution and what was going on. Probably good to listen to some podcasts or something before starting it
