Has anyone read any of Teddy Roosevelt's books? I got two for Xmas, these will be awesome right?

One of my resolutions is to read a book per month outside of my usual reading. I like realistic fiction the best, but need to broaden my horizons. Any suggestions for me?

FWIW, I liked A Scanner Darkly better than The Man in the High Castle, but they are both good books.

I may get that one too, I am negatively influenced by the movie (that I didn't see) looking like garbage.

Just finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Wasn't fantastic or anything, but liked it enough that I will try some of his others.

Almost done with the fourth Demon Cycle book, but the fifth (last) one isn't expected to be out for quite a while. eff. These were quite different than many fantasy books I have read. Very creative. I enjoyed them.

Have you read the Riyria series books? There are The Riyria Chronicles and The Riyria Revelations. I liked them quite a bit and the latest book just came out. Haven't read it yet. With the new book both have three books per series. Again, they are a fun read.

I checked those out, and they are still on my list, but I started the Black Prism by Brent Weeks, in the Lightbringer series.

To clarify, Octavia Butler is the author of Dawn and the Lilith's Brood series (which Chignon suggested) that I read a couple months ago.

I might look for another of Susanna Clarke's (author of Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell) later.
