Not Gone Girl.

Get the Game of Thrones stuff.

Also, did you hear that some book guy in Spain let slip that the next GoT book should be out in spring?  I guess the guy is someone who works often with Martin and would know.

I have already read Gone Girl and all the Game of Thrones books. That list is things that I already read and rated as 5 stars which means those are the books I like and need something similar to read while on vacation....

I'm getting ready to go on vacation in a week, and I need to get a book to take with me.
What should I get?????

Here are some things that I have rated 5 stars on my Goodreads list (for reference of what I like):
Edge of Eternity by Ken Follett
The Fifth Wave by Rick Yancey
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Towers of Midnight (Wheel of Time #13) by Robert Jordan
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin
Ender's Shadow by Orson Scott Card

That's just a sample. I have rated 29 out of 216 as five stars. I wonder if I should be more discerning with my ratings.

Dawn by Octavia Butler

I have heard the Golden Compass is a good one.  First of His Dark Materials trilogy.

read The Book of The New Sun series by Gene Wolfe. It will seem weird for the first couple books but really comes together and everything makes sense by the end.

You are probably right, but I don't know what it is.

OK, I am getting this one from the library. I might get something else too if I find another good suggestion.

Put Out More Flags - Waugh
The Gospel According to Jesus Christ - Saramago
The Magus - Fowles
Cloudsplitter: A Novel - Banks (but I think I recommended this before)

The one you suggested isn't available at the library. It looks good though, so I might check it out later when it becomes available.

I stopped by the library today.
I got Lilith's Brood which is a compilation of 3 books in the series starting with Dawn by Octavia Butler.

Also got Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell but I don't even know if that one will fit in my luggage. The librarian confirmed it was a great choice though.

Seems like that would be a lot of work. But it seems pretty good through one chapter.

OK, I also got Jonathan Strange on my eReader so I don't have to pack that 40lb book. I have a lot to read. I don't think I'll get it all read on vacation, especially since I'll be watching Star Wars on the planes.

I have been working through Non Fiction by Robert Utley, well researched and easy to read.

Would suggest for those wanting some history.

Bill the Kid great

Sitting Bull Great

Geronimo is next.
