I went out and looked at the moon twice, at 9pm and 11pm. The eclipse was cool, but it never looked red to me. Was it supposed to look red? Did I just not look at the right time?

It was a nice shade of orange.  Kind of hazy.

I was driving to work this morning, and as I was heading west, the moon was freaking huge against the blue sky.  It was cooler than what I saw last night.

It never even looked orange to me. Just normal moon color.

Green and orange. The moon looked like neither of those.

I am not color blind. I have taken color blind tests on the internet before and I got the most not-color-blind option there was.

I think you had to look at it right when it was in the full shadow of the Earth. As you can see from my photo (taken at 9pm) that was before it was in the full shadow. Then when I looked again at 11pm, it was almost uncovered (it looked like the moon was wearing a tilted beret). So I think I just missed full shadow/orange color time.

It got a whole lot orange'ey'er right before the fully coverage.  The more regular moon color available, the more the shadow looked like a reg shadow.

It did look red/orangish during about 9:15-10:45 when it was fully eclipsed, so yeah, you probably just missed it Mrs. Gooch
