We are sending a rough ridin' space ship that turns into a submarine to Europa.  It will land, dive, resurface, transmit what it finds, and repeat.  All by 2020, Iirc.  :surprised:

It's going to be super creepy when that thing doesn't resurface

i think ive read that it will like heat up to get through the ice to the under-ice-ocean.  what if they underestimate how thick the ice is and it runs out of power before it gets to the ocean.  or it doesnt have enough power to resurface after the ice freezes back over the original melt hole????  ?? ?  ?????  ????

I wonder if the aliens on Europa talk about the Planet Jupiter like how we talk about the moon.  Like, whoa the planet looks so big tonight, bigger than normal.  Or, it's going to be a full planet tonight.  Food for thought.

Given the size of Jupiter, think of the tides on Europa!

Yeah, basically, the only reason Europa isn't solid ice is because the gravity of Jupiter is so strong it keeps the majority of it liquid.  Crazy.

So I just went into an internet wormhole after looking up tidal heating.  Apparently we observed a cryovolcano (aka ice volcanco) on neptune's moon Titan in 1989!

Not sure.

I mean, Merica is so great, we just didn't fake it once, we faked it 7 times. One time we faked almost killing the astronauts.

There is a guy in my neighborhood that owns his own biz as a prepper's supply biz.  He seems to be doing very well.

Very strange that these people accept payment in fiat money. Shouldn't they of all people know better?

What if they just faked it the first time (for the win) then the rest were real?
