Honest question: What they could realistically do to stop storming?

Students aren't going to listen to threats of fines to the university as has been proven in the SEC. Are they going to hire buttloads of security/ police and literally try and arrest people who rush the court? I guess they could equip security with rubber bullets, but that's not going to happen.

There really isn't much you can do to stop 6,000 college students from doing what they've set their mind to.

the people who say act like winners. we're fans. celebrating other people's accomplishments. in this stupid thing we follow called sports. who gives a crap and have fun with it you bore.

what's losery and embarassing is following sports seriously and feeling like you are the one who did the winning.

Basically every ku fan I interacted with tonight on twitter kept using "I" "we" "our" when describing how many games/conference titles/national titles ku has won over the years. I can't remember the last time I used those possessives when talking about K-State winning something. Maybe when I was a drunk student?

We have a losing record, we are merely 5 years removed from being a dog crap program, and our coach was previously fired for failing at a high major.

We ARE a losery little brother to KU.  eff, we won on that floor for only the 4th time ever.  Plus, we beat a top 10 team.

We have a LONG way to go before we should be embarrassed by court storming.

there wasnt this melee on the court last night. ONE student acted alone and "chicken winged" an opposing player. there isnt a problem with the fan base, there is a problem with one single student. find him and ban him from games for the rest of the season and lets move on.

security should do a better job with getting the opposing players off the court.

Read an ESPN comment from someone claiming to have worked security at Bramlage. The word is that the management was very inflexible with hours and vacation so a lot of the experienced guys quit. This left an inexperienced staff on the floor who didn't know what they were doing. I definitely remember them protecting the opposing bench at last years storming.

This is precisely the point.  every time our fans storm the court, they re-validate and confirm the shittiness of our program and the fact that we are the losery little brother to KU.  this is my point.  I want to forget those days.  I want to black out Wooly/Asbury. 

and to the guy who says he doesn't use the terms "I" and "we" and "us" when talking about our programs, I'm assuming you're a liar.  by virtue of the fact that you're BBSing on an internet message board about the very subject that you're saying you don't have a personal interest in.  we all do it.  KU fans are no different than KSU fans.

We beat KU in back to back years for the first time since I was 8 years old. I'm nearly 40 now. We aren't at a "act like you've been there" point yet. I have no problem with rushing the court, maybe we'll beat them again next year and the next and stop which would be cool, but we are far from that point right now.

I'm not a fan of court storming, but I'm also not a fan of the people who decide who can or can't have fun.

I just tire of the sanctimonious BS emanating from Lawrence when it comes to issues like this, when I know Phogistan Nation gets all misty eyed about tearing down the goalposts and tossing them into Potters retention/Ebola pond.

Yeah, but when people get used to beating certain teams (of in KU FB's case, winning a game) then they generally stop. You only act like you've been there before when you've actually been there before, that's all I'm saying.
