Well, well, well.

Looks like the Chicken-Littles were wrong yet again.  What more will it take for you to put your faith in LHC Bill Snyder and the new President and AD?  You all could have saved a lot of tears and gnashing of teeth if you would have listened to people like me more often.

But then again this place wouldn't be the playground for all the kiddies if you weren't whining about something every five minutes.

If you don't have a twitter account, please start one ASAP.
I have no idea what this means, and quite frankly I don't care to.

It is a great way to communicate with like minded people instantly.  You could develop quite a following.  Those people would be your "followers"

You like the sounds of that?

And Scott and Weiberg made one critical mistake in the courtship of the Big 12. Other than its somewhat foggy math that a 16-team Pac-10 could readily get to $20 million in TV revenue per school, they wanted to substitute Kansas for Oklahoma State late in the process, according to multiple sources in the Big 12.

Texas was really starting to feel queasy now, sources said. UT officials knew deep down Texas A&M wasn't coming to the Pac-10, despite Bill Byrne's assurances, according to sources. And now Scott and Weiberg were looking to dump Oklahoma State in favor of Kansas. If A&M was a no-show, the Pac-10 would add Utah. Scott was looking to add new TV markets, not stick to the deal that was agreed upon a few days earlier.

According to sources who talked to me Tuesday (two days after the fact), Dodds and Plonsky couldn't stop thinking about all the negatives. And now they were dealing with a wheeler-dealer Pac-10 commissioner who wanted to sub out Boone Pickens' Cowboys for the chance to grab new households in Kansas, Missouri and middle America.

But, but, but... KU was just as desperate as K-State was!!!! The Pac 10 wanted Utah over KU!!!!

ku . . . we were plan C or D.

The Desperation to "prove" that ku was actually wanted is palatable.

Truest sign of absolutely no self esteem.

Clarification about 2011

Nebraska is leaving after this season correct? But CU is staying for 2 more(through 2011)?

If this is indeed the scenario then we stand an excellent chance of winning the 5 team north in 2011 with the BB's and Harper. LHCBS wins the final big12 championship game and rides off into the sunset on a rascal!!!

CU is considering leaving after this year.  I guess it depends on the settlement with the Big 12-2.

Also, I'm kind of amazed that when we were likely heading to the Mountain West, no one celebrated and changed MCMW to MCMMWCW. Did I miss it?  :dunno:

I think that is correct. The Pac 10 won't have a new TV contract with which to pay CU/Utah until 2012.

Report: 'Highly likely' Memphis, UCF get Big East invite
Posted by John Taylor on June 17, 2010 8:08 AM ET
What would your morning be without at least one expansion rumor to chew on over breakfast?  Downright un-American, that's what it'd be.

The latest round of expansion speculation involves the Big East, and not in the usual it's-about-to-be-eaten-alive way either.  According to the sports director at WKMG-TV in Orlando, David Pingalore, both Memphis and Central Florida could be invited to join the Big East conference as early as next week.

Pingalore's "multiple college football sources" go so far as to say that the two current Conference USA members moving to the Big East is highly likely.

This latest expansion rumor comes a few days after a report surfaced that the CEO of Memphis-based FedEx, Fred Smith, would be willing to give upwards of $10 million annually to a BcS conference willing to give the Tigers a new conference home.  The company later issued a statement denying the rumors, saying that the "reports that FedEx is offering financial incentives as part of this initiative [getting Memphis into a BcS conference] are incorrect." .

As far as UCF is concerned, they would bring the Orlando TV market -- the 19th largest in the country -- to the conference

:surprised: (< not really but I've pretty much set the precedent of using it whenever new info comes out).  Good additions for the BE imo.
