If we have to look West, then the first place I look is at TCU, BYU and Utah breaking away from the MWC . . . the first think I do if I am talking to the presidents of those schools and the refugees is telling them to offer Kevin Weiberg the commish job 10 minutes ago.

I'm then on the phone with Boise State . . . Boise State has football street cred, and you're pimping the hell out of what could be a pretty nice Football Conference with somebody like a Weiberg and a real consultant on this, possibly Lew Perkins.   Lew gets ku positioned in another conference and decides to go ahead and call it a day IMO . . . you bring in Lew to assist Weiberg as a consultant on the TV/Media deal.

i know.  i've gone against my own principles and put "KSU" and "SEC" in the same sentence.  I can't help it, ya know?  I just want to be in a relevant conference...want to be on espn without having to start tipoffs at midnight or have thursday football games every fracking week.

The only hope IMO for a sniff from the SEC is for the rank amateurs we have at K-State to somehow parlay their SEC contacts into something . . . and my advice to anyone on that, don't hold your breath, in fact, don't even think about holding your breath.   Albeit my Plan C from 10 pages back would be a good right about now . . . blackmail the SEC commish, it's the South, he's probably got a secret whore island plantation somewhere.

The phone finally rang. Interesting. Was told things are actually calming down. I guess that would be outside of wild media reports. This person still believes the Big 12 will move on as a 10-team conference for now. Interesting stuff. Played down the Big East angle. I guess that's something to ponder if the Big 12 does shatter.

Well all the VT fans on techsidelines.com are all giddy at the prospect of possibly joining the SEC . . . personally I think it would be a huge mistake for them.   The ACC TV payout just doubled, it's not as high as the SEC, but it's still a good chunk of change.

I am just going off the MSA numbers which have SLC at 1.1 million and KC at nearly 2 million.

But your right, it is growing much faster than KC. so for that reason the Pac 10 may look at that over ku and kc.   Not to mention the travel factor.   SLC is a Delta Hub.
