QFT. don't see how anyone can think mwc>big east

If we get MWC, you'll see pictures of sd and I with full back pak head tattoos at our first game in Vegas.    Ran out of time to get them at VegasPak.

We were on national tv cause Suh was lined across the ball.  And you really think if we were in the same situation as KU and Mizzou, the game wouldn't be nationally televised?  An undefeated KSU team playing an undefeated Utah, TCU, Utah, etc in the last game of the regular season?  We're not going to ever be a powerhouse in football again, if we ever were.  We can play the underdog- put together a couple nice classes and make a run as a BCS buster.  Thats what schools like KSU do.  We don't open the season as a favorite to win a NC like OU or UT.  We don't have a zillion Heimans and NCs like Nubb.  We have 10 years of success and a hall of fame coach.  Thats it.  Plus, the east coast smells like dead bodies floating in a polluted river.  MHK is much more like the MWC than it is to NYC.

Probably in the 50's or something.  With a new sparkling 90,000 seat football stadium for the Wildhawks/Jaycats it will be.  Not to mention the the 25k seat OOD(made with bricks and stuff from Allen Fieldhouse)<----- gotta appease our new partners.

Did you know that the Topeka tornado did the 3rd most damage (monetarily, adjusted for inflation) in US history?  Right up there with the OKC twister.  That said, I constantly wish that tornado hadn't  been so damn lazy and finished the job.  Topeka is like a mini Buffalo, without the charm.

Never really experienced it. Worst thing that ever happened was mine and my sister's car stereos got taken. Given the number of shootings that happened over the weekend, I'd say I've had a pretty mild time in Topeka.

CENTENNIAL, Colo. – The Mtn. – MountainWest Sports Network in conjunction with the Mountain West Conference has announced its football telecast schedule for 2010. The slate once again includes 30 games featuring Mountain West Conference institutions over a period of 13 weeks.

All 30 games telecast by The Mtn. will be produced and available in high-definition.

Mountain West Conference football kicks off on The Mtn. beginning Saturday, Sept. 4 (12 p.m. MT) with the Rocky Mountain Showdown, featuring Colorado and Colorado State at INVESCO Field at Mile High in Denver, Colo.

Other non-conference schedule highlights include Texas Tech and UTEP visiting New Mexico along with UNLV hosting Nevada.

Conference play on The Mtn. begins Saturday, Sept. 11 when UNLV travels to Utah. The Mtn. will also be the television home for traditional Mountain West Conference rivalry games: Colorado State at Air Force on Oct. 9; Colorado State at Wyoming on Nov. 20; and BYU at Utah (simulcast on CBS C HD) on Nov. 27.

I hope that those who are saying run to the MWC are ready to increase their Ahearn Donations dramatically.  Because that's what it's going to take to overcome the $4 to $7 million dollar hit that K-State will take based on TV revenue, non automatic BCS bid for the conference and bad bowl tie-ins.

Based on todays' numbers that's a 10% to 20% drop in K-State's athletic budget.

Undefeated?  Where is the undefeated talk coming from?  I realize we won't be playing B12 caliber opponents, but we lost to rough ridin' LOO-LAA last year! How the eff are we gonna go more than 8-4 in the MWC?  TCU? Loss.  BYU? Loss () Utah?

You do realize that Frank's and whatever coach follows Snyder's salaries come primarily from private donations, don't you?  You really think the BOR would have passed Frank's raise while the state was operating in a massive deficit?  No, it passed a moderate salary with the rest coming from private donations.  How much is whatever tv deal the Big East signs going to be, when divided between 20 schools?  Will they even give us an even share, or will the bigger names get bigger shares?  At some point, you have to admit that you're living above your means and we've already maxed out all our credit cards and we can't take out any more mortgages...

Here's something to think about when it comes to elite MWC Basketball:

Starting with the 2009-10 season, the Mountain West and Missouri Valley Conferences will hold an annual challenge series between all nine members of the MWC and nine of the ten MVC teams in basketball. The first game was on November 13, featuring the Bradley Braves and the BYU Cougars in Provo and it concluded on December 23 with the Wyoming Cowboys visiting the Northern Iowa Panthers in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

We'll be on par with Wichita State!   

God I hate this whole thing.  Hopefully some of the news reports saying that A&M and Texas want to preserve the Big XII are accurate now.
