I don’t understand why the 16 team model has to be the model for everyone in every part of the country.  It’s like no one has ever read Moneyball.

If we go to four 16 team leagues, wouldn't they eventually reorganize based of regional geography? Then we would be back to where we started but just watered down by division play against weak teams?

Since playoffs came up, I just saw this for the first time...old news, but is shows not all levels of the NCAA are incomptent ass holes.

I can only assume the reason that FBS is ran so insanely different than FCS is b/c regular season FBS games make a shitload of $ for FBS schools...in the FCS, their $ is made in the playoffs.

No, they would not. What I have seen proposed is 4 team pods, where you play 3 games against your pod, and then 6 games against the other pods in your conference. Then you would get 2 out of conference games, which would essentially be preseason NFL games, because who even cares if you win those? They don't count. Then look at what some of these pods are going to look like.

KSU-KU-ISU-Louisville seems to be the most likely for us. There would also be shitty pods like Indiana-Purdue-Iowa-Northwestern.

You just can't have balance without losing rivalry games, and I hate systems where you play a cross-pod rival even more because that just makes the schedule even more unbalanced every year. Power programs will group themselves with lucrative matchups, leaving low-value programs grouped together. This will ensure that several shitty teams make the playoff. Not to mention, you completely cut out mid-major programs.

I would just stop watching. It would be horrible.

They won't reorganize to fit into geographic regions.  The SEC is rejecting schools like Flordia State and Clemson because they those schools ARE in their region.  If they are trying so hard to get into new markets now why would they reorganize later just so they can be back to the same markets they had before all of this started?

Who says the SEC has to change or take FSU and Clemson? Reorganization may be for the the other 3. Also the SEC may want to trade teams.

That still happens if you decide you need to be at 12, or 14, or 16.
