Here's what I got:
The forefront of the conversation in KC this week will be Florida State and Notre Dame, yes, Notre Dame. ND is truly worried about being left out of any 4-team playoff, or any new lucrative bowl games that spawn because of it.
If, somehow, ND breaks the way of the Big XII, this will be huge. It will force Mike Slive (SEC) to hurry up and take either V-Tech, NC St, or UNC almost immediately, making the SEC the first "Super Conference" (16-teams).
Also, look for a conference call with the SEC to announce some sort of "Alliance" to force the Big 10 and PAC-12 to react in terms of the 4-team playoff scenario. This call could happen immediately.
With this being said, there will be some 'homeless' teams and a mad scramble to pick up football Big East members and ACC leftovers.
This is how I see the Big 12 going IF, if we get Notre Dame.
11) ND
12) Georgia Tech (per ND request)
13) FSU
14) Clemson
15) Maryland or Virginia- Big 10 may get Maryland. UVA is a good consolation prize.
16) Louisville- purely political. Mitch McConnell, Senator from KY will make this happen. Think Baylor circa 1996.
Tulane is out, turns out that was bad intell. That was to appease Boren and BGL (Bernadette Grey-Little).
Now here's the golden nugget #1: Some of this info will not be made public until June 20th....that is 5 days after Bowlsby takes over as B12 commish. This coincides with the approximate time that the BCS will be declared DOA.
Golden Nugget #2: Notre Dame and NBC are negotiating right now about a re-do of the Tier 3 rights to make this happen. The Big 12 will be involved in this.
