I personally like a 15 team* conference with 3 four team pods and then the 3 remaining teams rotating in and out of each pod based on inter-pod records with a tie breaker of "team" versus the pod to their immediate left.  Scheduling would be on a pod by pod basis* with the top /2 teams/ in each pod required to play the top 2 teams in the [other pods].  The remaining {one team} in each pod would then play the lesser of 1.  the other individual teams or 2.  the lower ranked of the remaining two teams in each subsequent pod.  Throw in a nationally televised dirty sanchez and/or hot Carl (to be determined by #Tier 3# internet popularity vote) to the homecoming queen of the team that loses the most games and I really think it has merit.

The only problem I see with this is that K-State doesn't have a homecoming queen. (Not saying we will lose the most games, but not NOT saying it either.)

Seems to me the writing is on the wall. 4 Super conferences to rule them all. Big 12, Pac 12, Big 10, and the SEC.

Once that gets established after the playoff format is reviled, the conference realignment floodgates will be opened. 

Looks to me the ACC and Big East (Basketball Conferences) will be on the outside looking in.
