Read the Wetzel column. The FACT is that the ACC tv deal is dog crap.

You combine that FACT with the FSU BOTs chairman comments (where he said the BOT was unanimous) and you can only reasonably conclude that there will be movement.

Once movement starts with any school in the ACC, then all others will get nervous and very self interested.

Go look at the FSU Rivals site, at their main private board. They are rough ridin' PINNING the re-alignment rumor threads. Those guys are dead serious about leaving the ACC.

Notre Dame fits nicely along that northern line and Tulane on the southern one. I swear, I think I'm the only one who buys into this Tulane talk. Two reasons: First, not every school you add can be an athletic powerhouse, but I also truly believe there are voices within the circle of presidents who will want to add an academic powerhouse to the mix to prove this isn't simply about athletics ... even though it is.

Still, adding Tulane is like picking up a Northwestern, Stanford, Duke or Vanderbilt for the Big 12. And the revenue from the Big 12 will put Tulane in a much stronger position to compete.

Plus, then we all get to go to New Orleans for games.

The morning after his comments ignited talk around the country of even more conference realignment, Florida State Board of Trustees chair Andy Haggard tried to clarify his stance on FSU, the ACC and any possible suitor.

“All I tried to say was I think Florida State needs to keep an open mind,” Haggard said Sunday morning. “If the Big 12 or the SEC or any other conference wants to talk, we have an obligation to listen. If the Big 12 calls, should we hang up the phone? No.

“I’m not saying take it. I’m saying listen to it. Listen to what they have to say.”

Haggard also said he would back down from his comments regarding FSU’s Tier 3 rights in the recently signed television contract between the ACC and ESPN “if I spoke on poor information.”

“But (Tier 3 rights) is not the main issue,” Haggard said. “We have to listen to how much more money may be out there. There are other issues that need to be considered. My only point is to listen to anybody who wants to talk – especially in these economic times.”

Can't imagine what it feels like to be a Cuse or Pitt fan thinking you just joined Big East 2.0.

Correct, that was inaccurate info.

However, it doesn't change the fact that the ACC deal is millions less than what they are projected to get in the Big 12.

Pfffffft, he obviously hasn't been to Lawrence for a game. Nothing beats "the hill", the tailgating, and the passionate KU football fans.

Pete, it's happening! I like how fans from other teams are helping too seed the hate for ACC and encouraging them to join Big XII. They are saying Big XII will be better than SEC, if they join.
