Houston, SMU, etc. are better off just staying in C-USA and working out some merger w/ Mountain West.

I think those conferences just need to thin out some of the weakest links (UAB), add a few decent teams (Temple, USF), split into four six-team divisions, and have a four-team playoff for one BCS bid.

The Big East just needs to die at this point. There is no need for them to try and destroy other conferences so they can keep that hybrid thing they've got going on. The Basketball schools need to figure out what it is they want to do on their own, and the football schools just need to go find a home somewhere else.
