We know Louisville is going to be available. They're not going to the SEC or ACC. We can take our time now and work the BYU/Notre Dame angle (if that is preferable) and if and when the time is right make the play for Louisville to fill out the league.
First, I don't think we know Louisville will be available. Maybe a move to ACC/SEC isn't likely. But, a year ago, I would have said WVU or TCU in the BigXII was unlikely. A lot can change in a year. History has proven as much.
I don't think a UCONN/Louisville package to the ACC is unforseeable. ACC is a basketball conference and LVille fits perfectly.
Second, we can all agree that destroying the BigEast is in our best interest. WVU is
probably the death knell. But LVille is
definately the death knell.
Lastly, if we are going to be shopping for 2 schools in the next few years, we won't find a better fit than LVille. So, just take them now. While they're available. And stop rough ridin' around.
Notre Dame ain't gonna happen. Sorry. If these guys ever decide their football team needs a conference, they're going Big10 and Big10 would do anythign to get em.
