If this is true, it makes me think that we honestly think MU is going to stay, and if we go to twelve, it's going to be with BYU and Louisville.

Whatever the hangup is with BYU, they'll get over it (both sides). We need their TV draw, and with the MWC/C-USA alliance, they aren't going to want to sit out of a major conference. The LDS is savvy enough to realize a BYU in a non-optimal situation is better than a BYU with absolutely nothing to play for.

Nope. WVU would only try to keep the BigEast together if they knew they weren't getting invited to the SEC... which means they believe MU is taking the 14th spot.

And maybe Louisville is abstaining because the BigXII already has them on speed-dial in the event MU leaves.

If MU leaves and we are looking at ten with Louisville, we may as well put a "For Sale" sign in the front yard of the conference headquarters.

Agreed. That league will be horendous.

I just can't understand why the BigXII would be content at 10 members, leaving a school like WVU sitting on the sideline. crap, expand to 11 and take Notre Dame's "other sports." For the love of god! It makes too much sense!

Pfffft. We let Nebraska and Colorado go for a fraction of what they should've owed. We were set to let A&M go without much issue. What would make one think we're going to call Missouri on their bullshit this time?

There is a difference between opinion and a relayed report. Last month Thamel, and 95% of the world outside of Missouri, was of the opinion that they were staying in the Big 12. Today a well placed source told him they were voting this week to leave, now he no longer thinks that they will stay.

I don't like the designated rivals idea. Just put OU, OSU and UT in the same division and put West Virginia and Louisville in the north.
