i think there probably is something to the rumors that the sec was poking around at tcu and that's why the big12 added tcu first and started poking around at tulane. tit for tat type stuff.

Agree. You have to go back to 12 if mizzou is gone. WV, Louisville and one of Rutgers/USF/Uconn. Kill the Big East and force Notre Dame to make a decision

Yeah, I'd almost let whoever we want more between Louisville and W. Virginia pick or have significant input on which 2 teams come in with them. Travel seems shitty for all those places.

no, what you don't understand was that i was making a comparison. very few people giving a eff in a big city still makes for better tv ratings than lots of people giving a eff in a podunk little town.

Does adding teams East of the Mississippi really help with long term stability? It helps in the short term, not sure about past 5 years out...

I just realized this could have been WVU/Louisville/Pitt if Boren would have kept his mouth shut.

Radio in Oklahoma thinks we'll add Louisville first to go back to 10. At that point they think we are at $18MM per school per year on the TV deal. After that the Big12 will go to the networks to determine if adding any combo of 2 schools will add $36MM per year in TV revenue to cover their share. If 2 school don't do that, it will be a very tough sell to OU and UT to add schools that reduce the per school revenue. OU and UT have already given up revenue with equal sharing. They feel they've already done their financial sacrifice part, and getting them to agree to do anything else that reduces it even more will be very, very difficult. If the new schools can make up their distribution OU would be much more willing to go to 12.

I'm guessing that we'll pretty much have at least two invitations out to Louisville and WVU as soon as Mizzou leaves. Then we'll be picky about number twelve because, with the Big East destroyed, Dodds, Castiglione, and Neinas are at least going to have a sit down with Swarbick.
