on the assumption that five conferences decide to go to 16 team and we get 1/5 of the teams out there, i'd take tulane.  maybe before then.  when you're faced with considering all possible outcomes, as the conference ought to be doing, tulane is not a joke of a suggestion.

You do realize that Tulane has a football team that competes in Conference USA, right? It's not very good right now, but a big upgrade in conference would helpba lot with recruiting. The Green Wave play host to Syracuse on Saturday at the Superdome.

ESPN was reporting Tulane on Wednesday night as a possible replacement.  not sure about fitz since I don't pay him money.

But just think what Tulane could do the academic perception of the conference . . . because we all know what a big role academics plays in these things.  No doubt professors and researchers all across academia either   or get over what athletic conference their school is in at the time.

Yes this was a Fescoe talking point.  He also was not excited about TCU even though they're an "improving" football program.  Back to back undefeated seasons and BCS bowls is "improving."

So now that Fescoe is on the record not excited about TCU I'm ecstatic with them.

We took a big academic hit with the losses of three AAU schools, and now we're looking at losing a fourth.

Tulane is one of two AAU schools on the open market (non-AQ conference, Big East), and they are the only AAU school in our contiguous footprint.

That's why Tulane is on the list.  They are an AAU school.  I didn't realize that until I just looked it up.
