it's only bluff if people care.  MU's standing on a ledge yelling about jumping and the few people who are actually stopping to watch are like "is this assh*le going to jump or not?  because I've got a lunch date in like 10 minutes".

To be honest, I'll still poke the carcass with a stick a few times. And I won't go right for the eyeballs. That means I want to savor it a bit.
"How will I recruit to Manhattan? Well, distance. And the proud state of basketball. It start there, and then daily flights to Dallas, because I'm really good at going out. Like top five good. Ask my wife. She wants me to be happy."

This is really going to eff up sports talk radio in Kansas City.  I do NOT want to have to listen to Steven St. John break down the Mississippi State basketball game.  AND, of course Nate will continue to be a COMPLETE pussy and just let Steven blather on and on about it.

I hope KU refuses to play them.  rough ridin' cunts.

St. John is going to get militant when MU leaves.  That show won't be worth listening to.

People listen to it now :dunno:

eff 810 Radio... and eff MU. I'm gonna be really pissed if I can't attend the big 12 basketball tournament at Sprint because its gone to rough ridin' dallas every year. I'd be pissed if I had a sports related business in Kansas City too....especially if I'm an MU fan. I don't think the MU crowd realizes what this is gonna do to Kansas City.

if mu leaves, I'll be ruthless to 810. first, I'll listen only by streaming. second, I'll turn it off every time mu gets brought up and they'll know I stopped cuz they monitor streaming listeners. third, I sit back and watch that station decide crashing and burning or stop covering mu. take that 810!!

This is a stare down between Texas and Mizzou over high school games on the LHN if you believe Chip.
Quote
But two sources close to the situation said a deal was nearly brokered on Tuesday that would have had the nine remaining schools in the Big 12 granting their TV rights on the Tier 1 and Tier 2 level for more than six years.

One source said the granting of rights would have been closer to the length of time left on the Big 12's Tier 2 TV deal with Fox, which has 13 years remaining.

But as part of the agreement, there were restrictions proposed on Tier 3 content, and Texas balked, the source said. The restrictions had to do with any and all high school content, the source said.

Texas' Longhorn Network has been at the center of debate over the airing of anything having to do with high schools. Currently, the NCAA has said LHN can show high school highlights in a news format. But LHN, which launched on Aug. 26, hasn't even been doing that - to avoid more controversy as the league works out its issues, sources said.

Texas would have to talk to ESPN before making any final decision on content restrictions, since ESPN owns and operates LHN, and those talks haven't yet happened, according to sources.

texas saying they have to go to ESPN is complete bullsh*t by Texas.  the LHN contract stipulates that it can't violate big 12 bylaws.  how texas can "balk" is beyond me when everyone can vote on the bylaw and even with texas dissenting.

espn can't show highschool games on that channel/station. that's already been decided i think. espn can show high school highlights though and i'm sure they want to and will. other schools know this and apparently don't want them to but it's not up to texas, it's up to espn.

just read zackers post so guessing maybe i'm not right. dunno.

do you really think that has anything to do with mizzou leaving?  they've wanted to leave forever

my post has nothing to do with MU.  the point was that it's not up to ESPN, it's not up to texas, it's up to the big 12 members what they will and won't allow on tier 3 networks/rights.  you can't create a contract (or rather a contract is not created) if by executing that contract a party is then in violation of another agreement/contract.

Honestly, why cant the IBA host the tourney? It's 3 hours away from 4 of the 8 remaining schools, which is more than Dallas can say.  Maybe a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) point, but it's a brand new arena in a fairly central location.

605 pages and you guys still don't recognize a bluff?

It all started that way.  But I think they're past that point now.

I think it will probably find it's way here even if Mizzou leaves if we invite Louisville and Cincy.

However, instead of having it on lock down, we'll probably end up having it in OKC more often than not.

OK came back and tried to play it off as they wanted to stay the whole time and now everyone has to play by their rules.  MU calls bullshit.

Missouri is playing hardball, and they are much more likely to leave.

Basically, they have the leverage OU never had.

If MU does go SEC I honestly can't wait for the MU/Ark rivalry to develop. Watching the game would be a little like watching a scene from Deliverance.

what leverage does mizzou have that OU didn't? The big 12 is more stable now.
