Report: BYU, TCU, Louisville, Cincinnati, West Virginia to join Big 12

BearcatLair.com reports “there are still a lot of details to be worked out as it relates to divisional breakouts, when new league would start play, etc.,” but the Big 12 appears to be moving toward 14 teams. The report says BYU, TCU, Louisville, Cincinnati and West Virginia would join current Big 12 members.

References a premium site though.  

Good move to future proof the conference when/if UT leaves.  We can claim TCU's TVs to include DFW when negotiating with espn/fox.  
BYU national following, UL, Nati and WVU are decent markets.  All schools moving money into their respective programs.

if Big 12 goes 14 with Mizzou staying and adding BYU, TCU, WV, UL, & UC that means we are utlimately forcing SEC to go after an ACC team to get to 14 or force SEC to go for Houston or USF.

I think we're just trying to solidify, as a group, that we're going to remain a power conference.

If 14 is the number, so be it.

I think this year proves Texas isn't going anywhere.

I don't know why people keep acting like they're going to go Indy.  That's the worst possible outcome for any school.  Notre Dame just does it because it's who they are.  Washington State has a better looking balance sheet from TV revenue than they do at this point.

I think one thing is clear, Texas is willing to cut off its nose to spite its face.  Texas will do whatever Texas thinks is for its best interest in the short term.

I don't think they should leave or will (because every other conference has told the LHN to GTFO). 

I think TCU provides a modicum of TV leverage if they do leave.

Using Clay Travis math, this is the potential population of people in the Big 12 footprint.  Considering that WVU has a sizeable fan base in DC and Pittsburgh, I threw all of DC and Pitt into the viewing area.  Louisville is on the Indiana border too, so I'm sure there are Louisville fans there too.  Again, using Clay Travis math/logic.
