i don't accept that a&m cleared any political hurdles. sounds like they were postponed, no more. even assuming that the number was pulled out of an ass, the idea that the tx legis is going to find that aggie leaving will cost the state 200+ million and be like, "oh well, aggies gotta do what aggies gotta do" seems unlikely
the whole espn issue still remains too - i can't see them signing off on losing 100 million if it could be prevented just by telling aggie to wait a couple of years. although the ku article made it sound more like the contract is not automatically voided if the big 12 hits 9, perhaps just that the network has the option of voiding the contract.
regardless, if cc isn't unhappy, i'm not going to be. replacing aggie with byu might suck a little for the southern schools, but it's probably a slight net positive for the northern schools.
