You douches keep forgetting about the CIC monies involved. But that's typical of your Husker envy and your little brother status to KU. Keep suckling the Tejas teet until they go independent.

No one wanted NU? When the Big 12 was gonna esplode No one was beating down KU's and Ksucks doors.

Texas Christian University coach Gary Patterson has been hired as Kansas State's 34th football coach, multiple sources have confirmed to GoPowercat.com.  Patterson replaces Ron Prince, who was fired Wednesday. - Tim Fitzgerald   Nov, 7, 2008

As a KSU sister university does NU have to clean out the trophy case and make room for Pinocchio and Geppetto?

Firstly, UNL should drop all programs that aren't Ag related.  Liberal arts should be left to the Ivy League.  Secondly, build a program that no one else in the world has or would want like "Domestic Law Studies in Animal Husbandry" or "Corn Aggregate Dihybridization".  Thirdly, forfeit all past wins against Kansas State University in football.

The PAC-12 has their new media deal.

The Associated Press also cited those figures, which works out to $225 million per year, surpassing the current $220 million received by the Big Ten. The deal is expected to announced Wednesday.

The article states ESPN and Fox beat our a NBC/Comcast bid.  I believe NBC/Comcast have yet to sign any BCS conference tier 1 rights despite the talk of them stepping up after Comcast bought NBC.  There could be a chance the Big 12-2 Tier 1 rights will go for even bigger money as it is the only tier 1 remaining, it would not suck to have a Big 12-2 nationwide game of the week on NBC ala the SEC on CBS.

I know he won't talk about it but I'd love to know what BSAC will do when Nebraska comes crying/begging/whining to be let back in?

It will be sad to see Tom Osborne with a big ugly red hat in his hand blubbering on one knee.

I think Nebraska will try to save face by seeing if the Pac 12 will take them first. The problem is, the Pac 12 will laugh at them for being fat, ugly, and dumb instead of just being dumb.

KU and the AAU
May 2, 2011

Dear Colleagues,

This weekend brought news that two members of the Association of American Universities were leaving the organization – one voluntarily and one after a vote by two-thirds of AAU members to discontinue its membership. This came after a review of both universities’ status was initiated by the AAU last year.

Many of us are now asking: What does this mean for the University of Kansas, itself an AAU member since 1909?

This is a question that I and many in the university have been contemplating for some time now. Our membership in this group of just over 60 leading research universities in the United States and Canada is a point of pride for the state of Kansas, and a reminder of KU’s important role as an international research university.

As you recall, last November both Provost Vitter and I detailed our concerns about how KU lags behind its AAU peers.

As I wrote to you then, “KU trails its fellow Association of American Universities members in a number of areas. Student retention and graduation rates are below AAU averages, as is faculty research productivity according to several key measures.” I said that this alone should give us a sense of urgency as we chart the future of KU.

The departure of two AAU members reaffirms my conviction that our priorities of raising KU’s academic stature and increasing the quality and quantity of our research are critical to the future success of our university. That’s why these priorities are core elements of the strategic planning processes at KU and the KU Medical Center.

This news also serves as a reminder that membership in the AAU is not static or guaranteed, and should add urgency to our efforts and those of Kansas policymakers to further strengthen KU. These efforts include the drive for National Cancer Institute designation for the KU Cancer Center and the proposed expansion of the School of Engineering. Both of these would increase our ability to fulfill our mission, as well as raise our stature.

I know how disappointed those at the departing universities must be by this news. I do not intend for KU to face a similar challenge. But if we are to raise our stature, we must work together to increase our academic and scholarly achievements. And it is critical that we have the full support of Kansas’ policymakers in Topeka in this endeavor.

With that support, and with the focused determination to achieve the goals we are all setting for ourselves and the university, our institution’s status and stature will be secure well into the future.

Sincerely,
Bernadette Gray-Little
Chancellor

KU is on the verge of being kicked out of the AAU...they are getting the same "warnings" that NU received prior to their expulsion.

Like I said, ku's overall total sponsored research numbers pretty much blow ass for a school that has a medical school. . . and they combine the main campus and medical school sponsored research numbers together.

Sincerely,
Bernadette Gray-Little
Chancellor

With a multitude of beautiful people at CU, many students find it hard to choose. The countless social scenes offered through bars, house parties, sports, and Greek life provide students at CU with many opportunities to meet, drink, and have whatever type of relationship they're looking for. From the faded steps of Norlin Library, you can watch your love interest provocatively flip their long blonde hair and say hello to every person walking down the sidewalk, or melt as the captain of the team tosses a football in your direction. But if a jock or Greek type does little for you, then CU’s remaining selection might.

The majority of the guys are snowboarders and skaters who wear baggy pants and a wide selection of baseball caps with their wispy hair poking out. They barely shave, yet manage to still look great. There are also a number of beautiful hippies who hide their perfectly sculpted faces behind their dreadlocks, but watchful ladies are rarely fooled. Girls who prefer their men clean and conservative also have a variety of Abercrombie & Fitch-wearing fraternity and preppy boys to choose from. The men also have little room for complaint. There are girls everywhere, and they are mostly out-of-state bombshells surfacing from Southern California, Illinois, and Texas. Yet, these striking ladies are not easily wooed. Guys often complain that these picturesque women show little remorse for the men who fail to satisfy their expensive taste. Bring your Visa cards, boys, if you want any action from these girls! But, if you want a girl who isn’t too much for your pocket book, the most natural beauties from all over can be found wandering the campus buildings and sidewalks.

Ooh, nice outfit. What is that, Dacron?

KU is on the verge of being kicked out of the AAU...they are getting the same "warnings" that NU received prior to their expulsion.

Quote

Unless Topeka finds a way to bail us out with increased funding, we are royally mumped. God forbid we actually work internally to make our school better.

Yep.  Thank God our governor won't sell KSU to augment deficiencies at KU.  However, our Governor is also purposefully trying to cut every cost he can in order to campaign for the White House as the "great cost cutter."  He could give two fucks if it hurts Kansas.   Now, as K-Staters were are getting the long end of the stick on this one, so it's not so bad.  If I were a KU administrator, I'd rough ridin' hate Brownback more than cancer.
