Don't watch. The NFL seriously sucks ass. And as was recently discussed in this thread, college football is well into the process of being ruined by big money as well.

What don’t you like about nfl?  what is better about cfb?

NFL is too calculated, sterile, and predictable. The hype and over the top production of the broadcasts is gross. College football is way more chaotic. Way more big plays. Huge upsets are pretty common. Fans and players are way more genuinely passionate.

This is objectively wrong but you already admitted to not watching the nfl so it would be difficult for you to know how wrong you are.

I mean imagine thinking Georgia demolish TCU by 58 points is a more enjoyable watch than Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes go toe to toe in the Super Bowl because "the fans and players are more genuinely passionate"

I agree about college football over pro football.  However, I do like the NFL much more than the NBA.  The NBA puts their players in a horrible situation of playing way too many games....no one can keep up the intensity for that long, so it comes off looking like the games are not as important.  That's very off putting for me.

The NBA doesn’t start until the playoffs imo.

I would guess Wash and Oregon to big 10 shortly and Big 12 pulls the 4 corners.  Sorry Cal, Stanford, Oregon St., and Wash St.

That’s not why tOSU cancelled. They decided they’d rather pay $500k & only have to go to the west coast for 1 game in 2024 rather than potentially 2. The driving force within the BigTen behind USC & UCLA and the biggest champion for potentially getting Oregon & Washington in Kevin Warren is now with the Bears. The BigTen isn’t adding more west coast school. Oregon & Washington are stuck.

I feel like that has been out there awhile. It was talked about that some BigTen presidents were upset when he made public comments about possibly taking more schools out west. It was talked about that the difference between Warren’s vision of future BigTen growth & some BigTen presidents vision of the conference’s future were why some presidents were happy he took the Bears job. I feel like I heard multiple places that there was relief he was gone because he got them their money & now they don’t have to deal with him pushing for more PAC-10 schools. Even on today’s Split Zone Duo they were talking about the future of the PAC-10 and without Warren in the BigTen pushing for UW/Oregon it wasn’t going to happen now.

I was a "I like college football over the NFL" guy from about 2002-2013, so I get some of that, but to the point that you won't watch the Super Bowl is bonkers and very odd to me.

Biggest thing that sucks about college vs NFL is the amount of blowouts. There are so many games in college that are out of hand in the 3rd quarter because they are such a mismatch. Can even an Alabama fan say the Sugar Bowl was a quality sports entertainment product? It was boring and sucked. NFL has so many more close games that come down to the last 5 minutes. It's not even close.

Ya but you also have your Cotton Bowls! College Football still has Cinderellas here and there, but they're trying their damndest to ruin that too.

I heard today on the PATC podcast when they were having call-ins and a big-time booster from OSU said that in a meeting with the board, they didn't want a marquee game to be behind a paywall.  The $500,000 payment for canceling the game was reasonable considering the market value of such a game.

I heard during the meeting between the presidents about the proposed media/network that the Washington AD was yelling so loud about the steaming portion being unacceptable that he could be heard in the hallway and this was then leaked to the media.  Also, both SDSU and SMU are not agreeing to take a reduced payout so OSU and UW are to receive $10 million more per year.

my brother in Cats. I would love to have discussions about all sorts of topics in the pit from politics to religion to human nature and environmental concerns and all of that. However, the general tone in there isn't one of curiosity, and tends to be pretty mean spirited, so I choose to abstain most of the time.
