fine. is it reasonable to think that CFB is changing so much that pretty soon lots of the fans aren't going to like what it has become? and all this conference realignment will have been for nothing b/c the networks guessed wrong that viewship would remain high?

I think more fan bases will be engaged now that 12 teams make the playoff.   All four major conferences will send a rep every year.  TCU getting to the natty means basically anyone can make it.

I think sec/big 10 get 6 a year.  Big 12/ACC get 4 and then whatever scraps the deal provided for the G5 teams for the other 2.

Most college football fans are casual as eff, cheer for the laundry, and don't care much about who they face. Losing the rivalries does suck but they're cyclical anyway, fit the most part. K-State Iowa State is one of the most played rivalries in CFB history. If they left for the Big 10 when Nebraska did, no one from K-State would have given two shits. For the casuals and frankly the hardcores the conferences changes won't be much of a deterrent, these conference have been swapping constantly since the 1920s.

Big 12 will be able to get whoever they want from the PAC 12.  It will start with us talking to other non-PAC 12 teams (Memphis, San Diego St., Gonzaga, etc.).  That will put pressure on remaining PAC 12 teams to move as the threat of taking away best options to expand PAC 12 will forever make them a doormat.  I'd expect ASU and UA will be first two join. 

Oregon and Washington will wait as long as they can.

Their wait time isn't going to be very long, at all. Their media deal has 16.5 months left. The new Big 10 deal starts this July. You have to think that if they're going to the Big 10 it will have to be with USC and UCLA in '24. There will be a Pac 12 gor coming very soon.

They won't have a choice.  The network deal will be contingent on a GOR being signed.

Where do you get that info?  Before 2012 the Big XII didn't have a GOR.  I don't think the SEC or the big 10 currently has one.

From my vantage point, they moved on immediately and you're still talking about them two weeks later. Also, you're REALLY reaching because those are different sets of fans. Also, that was a bad call.

I have heard over the past couple of days from several sources that the proposed PAC 12 network agreement would include one premium game per week with Amazon and a Friday/Saturday night game with the third term games to be on ESPN +.  ESPN will not pay more than network expenses and only a low rate for the two Friday/Saturday games.  If this is what they settle on, there will be a discourse between PAC 12 schools.

NFL is too calculated, sterile, and predictable. The hype and over the top production of the broadcasts is gross. College football is way more chaotic. Way more big plays. Huge upsets are pretty common. Fans and players are way more genuinely passionate.

I agree about college football over pro football.  However, I do like the NFL much more than the NBA.  The NBA puts their players in a horrible situation of playing way too many games....no one can keep up the intensity for that long, so it comes off looking like the games are not as important.  That's very off putting for me.

I was a "I like college football over the NFL" guy from about 2002-2013, so I get some of that, but to the point that you won't watch the Super Bowl is bonkers and very odd to me.

Biggest thing that sucks about college vs NFL is the amount of blowouts. There are so many games in college that are out of hand in the 3rd quarter because they are such a mismatch. Can even an Alabama fan say the Sugar Bowl was a quality sports entertainment product? It was boring and sucked. NFL has so many more close games that come down to the last 5 minutes. It's not even close.
