As fatty once said Kstate wasn't created to give a top tier (top 50ish school) education. Kstate was created to give the citizens of Kansas a University a reasonably priced school they could send their sons and daughters to.

We will never be Cal/Stanford and we should all be okay with that. 

But we can have an elite football team that mushes those nerds into lockers every Saturday.

We don’t have the burden of paying out of state kids to come to KSU, spracs.  Doling out checks to KS kids doesn’t require a huge endowment. We are a highly efficient machine, that trusts the citizenry with the assets.

As you know, an endowment has nothing to do with athletics spending. My tongue was partially in my cheek. But it does have to do with the long-term stability of a University. Why hasn't K-State prioritized it? Seems like they've raised at least that much in the past decade for facilities. 4-D chess?

It’s increased by about 500M in the last decade. Sits at about 810M as of fiscal 21.  I’d say they either prioritized it heavily or bought a few bitcoins.

The current value of K-State's long term investment pool is approximately $930 million.  The K-State foundation has total assets that exceed $1 billion (really about $1.2 to $1.3 billion)..

 

Whoever is managing these assets / fundraising probably deserves a raise.  It’s gone gangbusters since 2013.

Nah, lets see how they do in a market that hasn't gone straight up since 2013 before we start handing out awards.

There was back and forth on twitter between Utah and BYU fans speculating that Utah is against joining a conference with BYU, but that's all just part of their delicious hatred for each other.  I look forward to their horse crap "holy war" rivalry.

I worked for one of the largest medical device manufacturers in the world. I was told by multiple executives based on the coasts that the engineers that come up through their facilities in Nebraska, Oklahoma & Arkansas that had degrees from plains states were much better than engineers they hired from high end universities on the coasts.

has anyone seen the math on the amount of money CU's AD missed when they left God's conference? i think the Pac was at least 2 or 3 million behind the Big 12 the last few years in addition to the $6.8M CU paid to leave in the first place.  It has to total 10s of millions, especially when you consider the attendance hit when all the flatlanders in this conference stopped coming to Boulder.

Friend, they would have made $21 million more dollars just this last year by being in the Big 12. 

The total amount they've missed out on approaches $75 to $100 million at this point.
