They're probably going to do what the Big 12 did and that's grab the best 4 G5 schools out west and stay the course. I'm not as certain that will work as I was with the Big 12. However, I'm sure George K. is working to get SDSU, Boise, CSU, and UNLV in the fold. Will that stop some combination of Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Utah, and/or Colorado from jumping to the Big 12? We'll see. I know that Cal and Stanford will stay, they won't care that the new Big 12 will get a better media deal than the new Pac 12.

You have to believe that Stanford and Cal are pulling every string they can to get their ass in the Big Ten. They had to hold her nose when the pac added Arizona and Arizona State and Utah and Colorado, I can imagine how they feel about San Diego State Boise State UNLV and Colorado state.

In the end there will be the two power conferences (BIG and SEC) who basically become the NFC and AFC.  Each conference will have a playoff and the winner of each will play each other for the national championship.

The remining questions I have right now are:
* will the BIG and SEC play games that count with teams outside of the power 2? Or will they be exhibitions/scrimmages?
* will the remaining college football programs decide to make their own championship with a playoff or go back to bowls?

I personally think the P2 league will bring in less money than expected, but who knows.

ACC schools are locked into GOR until 2036, none of them are going anywhere.
ACC will be almost as desperate for relevance as the Big 12, but don't have an existing footprint west of the Mississippi.  Big 12 does.
Pac-12 leadership has shown fits of competence and desperation, now we'll see desperation.  TT and Okie Lite will get invites.

TT and OSU would be insane to go to the Pac. It made some sense 10 years ago when they had Texas and OU going with them, but it makes no sense now. Same money (maybe less), 10 pm kickoffs, fewer viewers, and fewer fans.

Why would any Big 12 even think about joining the PAC now?

The PAC is a scuttled ship adrift at sea.

Covid or not the Big 12 just distributed $24 million more dollars per school than the PAC did.  Multiple PAC athletic departments are the equivalent of a burned out building financially.

I'm going to be old by the time the ACC GOR is up.  That is a long time from now, and the football landscape and the television landscape could look completely different.

Agreed.  I say for the big12 to add schools in the pac12 and maybe 1 or 2 others that bring in value.  Set the tv contract to expire around the time the ACC GOR expires and expect it to all implode unless ESPN/FOX craters first.  And then we all go back to a regional sports (totally wishful thinking on my part).
