What if UConn was football-only, but had 4-5 OOC games per year in MBB and WBB against Big 12 teams?  So in return, every year each Big 12 team plays one game against either UConn M or W BB.  Ideally, this would rotate so you get UConn MBB visiting once every 4 years.

SDSU didn't win a game because the replay booth was SDSU grads. They lost one because the replay booth was BYU grads. Ninety percent of the teams in the league with BYU aren't fielding teams TWO years older than BYU. BYU is fielding teams 2 years older than 90 percent of the league. You guys are "special rules" Divas that demand favors because of some b.s. cult that some wack-job in Pennsylvania invented so he could bang multiple chicks legally. You can't play on Sunday because you're magical white undies demand it. You can't display affection if you're gay, because gay people can't make babies. They don't make money for the mothership like having 6 wives and 32 kids can. Yes, you we're finally forced to stop having multiple wives. You haven't stopped having 32 kids. BYU is the athletics wing of a cult designed to be nothing more than an ATM with different wives to bang.

Luckily, I don't care about that. You can't even have a sports debate, because everything BYU is engrained in this "religion" and BYU fans demand that you seperate church from athletics ONLY when it favors BYU. The entire history of BYU athletics success is built on a special rule book that is supported by said "religion". You offend BYU if you tell it like it is, yet the special rules are unimpeachable, because they're supported by a 150 year old religion founded in some Pennsylvanians back yard.

Here's how it works:  BYU joins your conference.  BYU expands the Mormon influence in all cities/regions of the conference with new chuches/temples.  Mormons settle into the area and become part of the community and take leadership roles, then they start changing the rules.  Here's an example of what they did in Idaho this year...banned alcohol at tailgates to "uphold certain family expectations..."  See the link.  I have not fact-checked it, but was told that the voters for this ruling are all Mormons.

I just didn't see the logic in choosing WVU over Louisville. WVU being better historically is the only thing they have over Louisville. Louisville is better in every other metric.

TCU is fine competitively but they are a small private school in a market the Big 12 already dominated.

2 weeks later Syracuse and Pitt went to the ACC, the PAC told Boren no, and we took TCU.  A month later Mizzou left and we took WVU. 

Boren has been at the forefront of terrible decisions multiple times.

Yes none of them are homeruns but Louisville has good years but hardly a guaranteed bid pickup... In football anyway. WVU was our best option at the time. UL had been a lower conference school basically always until they got in the acc

I don't know what you're referring to; TCU was the fifth ranked team a couple years ago and WVU was the Big East Champions the year we picked them.  SMDH!

I'm sure Pitt was calling the ACC too, but they joined the ACC 2 weeks after Boren's wallflowers comment. I followed realignment very closely that fall because I quit work to finish my MBA that semester and had a shitload of free time.  Everyone associated with Pitt said they were working on the plan to the Big12 until Boren's wallflower comment.  It ended up working out great for them, but they weren't just leveraging a potential Big12 deal.

But perhaps more than anything, Louisville 63, Florida State 20 symbolizes the short-sightedness of the Big 12 five years ago. Louisville and West Virginia battled politically to get a Big 12 invite, using U.S. senators to lobby on their behalf.

"If a United States senator has done anything inappropriate or unethical to interfere with a decision that the Big 12 had already made, then I believe that there should be an investigation in the U.S. Senate, and I will fight to get the truth," West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin III said in 2011. "West Virginians and the American people deserve to know exactly what is going on and whether politics is interfering with our college sports."

Of course politics interfered with college sports. West Virginia won a spot in the Big 12. Louisville is better off in the ACC as the Big 12 remains unstable for the long term. Since 2012, Louisville has a 43-12 record and West Virginia is 28-25. Think the Big 12 might want a do-over?
