Baylor has a better bball program. In the Big East, bball is king.

no doubt thats why i suggested memphis first but if you have to go for a texas team i would still take houston over baylor. sure they arent as good at basketball but "Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown, which is the sixth-largest metropolitan area in the U.S. of nearly 6 million people" "The Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area consists of McLennan County and has a 2007 estimated population of 224,668." Adding the largest city in texas and one of the largest cities in the US is better then anything baylor can bring to the table

Its a big stretch to say Baylor has a better basketball program anyway. Baylor has a more recent Elite 8 run, but as programs right now they are pretty equal.

Besides, it doesn't matter that basketball in the Big East is king, they are going to want the best football programs they can get to build up football in their conference. If we've learned anything by now, the status of your basketball program means very little in conference posturing.

Football may mean more in conference posturing, but the Big East will never be as good as the other conferences from a football standpoint. Also, I believe that basketball has been undervalued in all of this, and that Big East basketball could be incredibly lucrative, especially with KU basketball and a Big East Network. Houston adds more television sets, but I see Houston and Baylor basically as being a tie in terms of who we should pick up. Memphis would be better than both, imo. I would like to have Baylor though, just because they are our Big 12 brother.

The main point I was trying to make is that any thought of not taking Missouri if they are available (to the Big East) would be absolutely stupid. The trio of KU, MU, would actually be a really good acquistion for the Big East regardless of TV sets. You get a group of long time and regional rivals in a midwest footpring, and I think that's just as valuable as acquing an additional Texas school like Baylor or Houston. Plus you get some decent football programs; Missouri has been really good lately, we are decent, and even KU went to the Orange Bowl a fews ago. IMHO, the Big East needs that just as much or more than making the basketball better (and KU, MU, and us would make it better), especially since it is already good in basketball. The Big East needs stronger football to solidify its BCS status; grabbing MU, and then KU and us, does this nicely, especially considering the schools available for them to get.

    I would expect Baylor to take some kind of legal action soon....The key individual is Ken Starr. He is an aggressive prosecutor.
