While we're all doing mindless speculating, is it possible that A&M is pushing this to the limit to force a crib-death for LHN, and will stay in the conference? They did leave themselves a foot in the door if the Big 12 doesn't close it.

I wouldn't be all that surprised if we do. The only member of the conference that would hold a grudge rather than take a school that would actually add value is A&M, and it's not like they are going to reject themselves.

I can't decide if I'd rather be a part of a non-BCS MWC, or a part of what will likely be a non-BCS Big East.

I suppose the time zone thing is better with the Big East, so I lean toward the Big East. go cats.

If the "right" schools in the Big East get snubbed by the ACC, Big 10 and SEC...then add ISU, KU, and KSU they could actually hold together as a really shitty BCS conference for a while.

The Big East has come close to losing its BCS status a couple of times, but each time they had 1 or two teams barely hang on to be ranked high enough to keep the status.

A&M and Mizzou seem like decent replacements since Kentucky and Florida are leaving for greener pastures.

If we do end up getting bent over (bad way, not from texas way). We need to join a conference (or stay in this one) and the admission standards needs to be basically nothing. Eff it, if we can't fight with money there are other ways around it.

I seem to remember that there was a requirement for a certain number of teams in a conference...but seems like 9 teams is about perfect. 8 conference games and 4 ooc games...works well in basketball also. what gives?
