Quote from: sonofdaxjones on August 17, 2011, 02:46:00 PMStill don't believe OU is all that interested in leaving the Big 12 . . . once again, you have to ask why? Why do you go to another conference like the SEC, when year end and year out, your football program will be a favorite to win the Big 12? If I am Joe Castiglione I am working hard to keep the Big 12 going, while making sure that you've got the back channels open.Stoops said he wants to stay. OU should listen to Stoops.

From GSwaim twitter;bottom line; when the so-called super conferences happen, an independent will have no shot at a national title. UT ND and BYU know this......

The body of a raccoon could look like damn near anything and the last thing we want to have is part of our trophy/conf confused for a basset hound, opossum, walleye, or some crap.

Last summer when it appeared the Big 12 would lose several teams to the Pac-10, the Big East was ready to take advantage. Sources told CBSSports.com that the Big East presidents had agreed to invite Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri and Iowa State as full members. A meeting was scheduled in Chicago to make the formal invitations with the four Big 12 schools prepared to make the jump.

There could be an even bigger plan in the works for Texas. DeLoss Dodds, the Longhorns' athletic director, and Jack Swarbrick, the AD at Notre Dame, not long ago came together on a series of four Texas-Notre Dame games, starting in 2015. But they also have done some big-picture daydreaming. With the Irish and their NBC TV network anchoring, they've imagined a new North conference that would include Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Louisville, North Carolina and Pittsburgh. Alongside Texas and its ESPN TV network in the South: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas Tech, Baylor and Houston.
