Doesn't the new contract with FSN take effect with the 2012 football season?  Meaning, for 2011 we'll still under the old FSN contract of $19.5 million per year.  Then for 2012, the revenue from FSN will jump up based on the new contract.  I could be completely off.   

Even so, regardless of which year the new contract takes effect, it's amazing how much additional revenue K-State will get every year!  Last June, the Big 12 distributed $139 million.  Of that, $80 million was from TV contracts, and the remaining $59 million came from other sources (conf bball tourney, NCAA tourney, bowls, corp sponsors, etc).  With the new FSN contract, we'll be getting $150 million per year in TV revenue and probably about the same amount of misc other revenue.  Could the Big 12 distribute more than $200 million to it's members???  Since it's not 100% equal sharing, we'll still probably be below $20 million for our cut, but it's still a HUGE upgrade from where we were.

Us K-Staters with being smarter and making more money can just sit back,smile, smoke our pipes and wear our silk robes while we watch the money roll in. KU on the other hand, watch out for heart attacks on the rise from never seeing that much money before.

I bathe and wipe my ass with my B10 network money, sometimes not even in that order so I end up having to bathe in it again to get the ass juice off me.. 

Michigan could be making way more money under a Big 12 model. UM could start the Wolverine Network and would get paid out more money for TV appearances. Plus your smaller sports could play on TV live instead of being tape delayed. B10 network is nice, but it is a much better deal for the Northwesterns than the Michigans. Big 12 TV deal should be a wake up call to the big schools in the B10. They are leaving tons of cash on the table, and IU NW etc are taking it gladly.

I suppose you're right since we split everything evenly and teams like Michigan have had all their games televised way before the BTN.. However, it's not like I'm getting the extra money to play with or am losing money out of my pocket to NW/IU so it doesn't matter to me.. Plus, I love the BTN,it allows me to see every single B10 game from that given week and  tons of classic football/Bball programming year round to feed my appetite of UofM sports..

They say watching every single big 10 game from any given week is being studied as a possible alternative to lethal injection...er, maybe it was just an alternative to some of the scarcer chemicals used in lethal injection.

I live in Florida and the rumor I heard was was the SEC wanted KU to raise their BB profile and provide and UNC/DUKE rivalry with KU/UK, plus a patsie to beat up in football. Funny thing NO ONE and I mean NO ONE menitoned KSU. Get out of Manhattan and travel around you'll see what I mean.
