Seems accurate in my experiences with folks of lots of religious organizations.  I'm Catholic, by the way, but recognize this in my church as well.

I've always thought New Mexico would be a good long term fit for the Big 12.  They are regional, already have a built-in rivalry with TT, have great BB tradition, and are in a decent market that is growing.

UNM has a decent TV market similar to KC, OKC, Austin (although no one would watch, I guess), enrollment close to 30k, are a couple simple renovations away from having a power 5-ish football stadium and are a quality basketball program with a good facility. I'm dumb too, but I'm with you and have no clue how some of those schools made the cut and UNM didn't.

NM didn't make the because because no one knows anything about them other than their color is red.  I don't even know what their mascot/team name is or where their school is located.  I also know that the biggest TV market is NM is pure trash.
